ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking passionate Teachers who are looking for an enriching experience to be part of the Elsie Fabian School (EFS) team. You will be responsible for supporting and developing Fort McKay students, while focusing on the delivery of exceptional educational services. This is a full-time contract position reporting directly to the Principal of EFS, located in Fort McKay, AB.  We are looking for dynamic and passionate Educators who love Northern Living to join the team! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead instruction and provide quality teaching, ongoing analysis, pedagogical knowledge and make decisions that support optimum learning for all students. Work in a collaborative setting to reach the schools goal of providing a strong Cree Language, Dene Language, Land-Based Learning and Academic Program with a focus on literacy and numeracy. Design and implement individual program plans. Demonstrate the importance of making a strong, positive connection with all students, through classroom interactions as well as involvement with students outside the classroom. (ie. clubs and teams). Implement curriculum prescribed by Alberta Education, with focus on Indigenizing curriculum. Ability and commitment to work as a member of a team and establish productive relationships with staff, parents and community. Apply the Alberta Teaching quality standards. Other duties as assigned. KEY REQUIREMENTS Possess a Bachelor of Education An exceptional level of Professionalism. Holds, or is able to acquire a valid Alberta Teacher’s Certification Knowledge of Alberta curriculum and teaching experience Ability to use technology in the classroom to engage student learning Superior organizational and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability creating a classroom environment characterized by inclusion, equity and differentiated instruction Experience working in a First Nations community including knowledge of Cree and Dene culture, traditions and values is a definite asset Clean Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector required Valid class 5 Driver’s License & Clean Driver’s Abstract required Successful candidate will be required to live in (or relocate to) Fort McMurray, Alberta WHY APPLY?
