In this Extrusion Operator role your responsibilities &amp; activities will include:</p><p>&nbsp;Material handling equipment:</p><ul><li>Set different blends according to job requirements</li><li>Maintain constant flow of material between the in-feed hoppers, the blender, the crystallizer, and the dryer.</li><li>Be able to debug any feeding problems</li><li>Manage the filling of regrind gaylords from the thermoformers and to the extruder. &nbsp;Pack Gaylords to ship.</li></ul><p>Operate the crystallizer:</p><ul><li>Know how to set the optimum processing parameters for different blends, and for variations in bulk density of the material. &nbsp; Know how to adjust temperatures, dosing rates, and drum speed to achieve proper crystallization.</li><li>Monitor for chunks and be able to change process parameters to eliminate these.</li></ul><p>Operate the dryer:</p><ul><li>Learn when the dryer is to be used.</li><li>Understand the parameters to monitor to ensure it is working properly.</li><li>Change the filters when necessary.</li></ul><p>Operate the extruder:</p><ul><li>Learn how to use the start-up checklist to make sure the extruder is ready to start.</li><li>Learn how to identify when temperatures are correct for start-up.</li><li>Know how to set up the extruder to make different sheet widths and thicknesses. &nbsp;This entails correctly adjusting the speeds on the main motor, gear pump motor, chill roll motors, pull roll motor, and die gap.</li><li>Be able to set up the silicone coating system properly.</li><li>Check the quality of the sheet being made. &nbsp;Check for correct width, thickness, and silicone coating.</li><li>Be able to identify and correct quality problems.</li><li>Be able to change the melt filter on the extruder.</li><li>Be able to change the winding of the sheet from one winder to the other.</li><li>Be able to take the roll of sheet off the winder and prepare the winder for the next roll</li><li>Be able to drive a lift truck and take the finished rolls of sheet to the proper storage location.</li><li>Change the sheet from one roll to the other. &nbsp;This implies quickly cutting the sheet from one winder to the other.</li><li>Drop rolls from the winders and return the chuck to the winder to prepare for the next roll.</li><li>Pack rolls to ship and or store</li></ul><p>Operate a lift truck:</p><ul><li>Be able to operate a lift truck to be able to bring material to the extruder, to dismount finished rolls from the extruder, and to take these rolls to their proper storage locations.</li></ul><p>Help with the material handling on all thermoforming machines:</p><ul><li>Bring cartons to the thermoforming machines</li><li>Take finished product away from the thermoforming machines.</li></ul><p>Do the preventive maintenance on all the equipment assigned to that shift.</p><ul><li>Each shift has an assigned list of preventive maintenance. &nbsp; These include:<ol><li>Changing filters as needed (vacuum pump, extruder melt screen, &amp; dryer aftercooler)</li><li>Lubricate</li><li>Inspect</li><li>Keep the work area clean and organized. &nbsp;This includes the material handling area, the extruder area, and winding area.</li></ol></li></ul><p>During weekends the operators must also perform the following with their helper:</p><ul><li>Clean and organize the plant</li><li>Perform weekly preventive maintenance &amp; monthly maintenance of the extruder and building</li><li>Help tipping rolls for any Sencorp&rsquo;s working over the weekend</li><li>Help ship finished goods from any Sencorp&rsquo;s working over the weekend</li><li>Must be self-motivated with high sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and adaptability</li><li>Willing to mentor less skilled employees as career progresses</li><li>You&rsquo;ll get your hands dirty</li><li>You&rsquo;ll love it</li></ul><p>&nbsp;You won&rsquo;t find a better opportunity like the one you&rsquo;ll find with Easypak.
