The Laboratory Technician is responsible for carrying out analytical methods and standard operating practices without supervision to a high degree of precision and accuracy, ensuring that an effective and high-quality analytical service is provided to meet reporting deadlines on the various types of samples/commodities. We thrive by continuing to re-invest in our facilities, technology and people. <a href=\"https://www.ahkgroup.com/about-ahk/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here to find out more about AHK.</a></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(232, 59, 68); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: 600\">DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">RESPONSIBILITIES<br><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300\">Ensuring at all times that a high degree of accuracy and precision is applied to methods and procedures through incorporating and promoting good laboratory practice principles.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300\">Responsible for ensuring that work throughput is followed in accordance with documented methods, procedures and timescales.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300\">Ensuring relevant equipment checks have been completed and deemed fit for purpose.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300\">Advising the Senior Laboratory Technician or Technical Manager of repetitive problems in connection with training and development objectives that manifest during the execution of day-to-day analytical methods and procedures and associated standard operating practices.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: 300\">Maintaining records and laboratory data in agreement with the<span> </span></span><span style=\"font-weight: 300\">Senior Laboratory Technician and Technical Manager</span><span style=\"font-weight: 300\"><span> </span>such that work is clearly and easily auditable and traceable.</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300\">Processing analytical data unsupervised in preparation of results being checked and authorised prior to reporting.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300\">Assisting the Senior Laboratory Technician and Technical Manager in updating the post holders training record at every training milestone, while maintaining competency training records as a record of achievement beyond the initial 12 months training and development. Take full responsibility for your own training records.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300\">Undertaking other duties of an appropriate nature in consultation with the Senior Laboratory Technician or Technical Manager.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300\">Ensuring that all laboratory work areas and work stations are kept clean and tidy.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300\">Ensuring stocks of consumables are monitored and replenished in a timely manner.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ensuring that all PPE and health and safety procedures are adhered to, in line with the laboratory code of practice.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>To be successful at Alfred H Knight, you will need to display the following:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300\">Show enthusiasm for their work and possess a drive to succeed.
