The goal of an exceptional education teacher is to support student development. Our EC teachers work relentlessly with their teammates to ensure that all of their students not only are able to enhance their academic abilities, but they also help our students gain a broader understanding of the world, while adhering to the established North Carolina standards. This incredible work is done through coaching and support from administration, implementing regular feedback, collaboration with colleagues, data analysis, and working to make sure that students who come in below grade level rise above the challenges they face.    </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">As an exceptional education teacher, you will:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Support general education classroom teachers with the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plans.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Provide input on the development of individualized education programs (IEPs) for students. </span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Maintains special education files, both paper and electronic files, as directed by federal, state, and local practices. </span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Collect data on individual student skills to determine the effectiveness of programming and measure progress toward IEP goals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Facilitate IEP meetings for students on your caseload.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Maximize creating independence across all natural settings.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Work as a team member and advocate for students to gain exposure to general education peers and settings as appropriate.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Plan effective instructional and/or behavioral strategies for adapting and modifying general curriculum to ensure all students access academic content.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">QUALIFICATIONS</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Experience: </span></em></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">2+ Years of teaching experience preferred</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Valid NC Exceptional Education certification and teaching license  </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Previous experience with Literacy instruction </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Experience using technology to drive instruction</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Education: </span></em></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Bachelor’s Degree</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Other Qualifications or Characteristics:</span></em></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Belief in the mission of Research Triangle High School</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Investment in innovative teaching techniques, including personalized learning</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Now Offering a Signing Bonus</span></span></span></p>\n<p>To attract exceptional educators, we are offering a<span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">signing bonus for this EC position</span>.
