The goal is to unlock the full potential in each colleague – empowering our people to grow as insurance professionals and add more value to our customers and AIG.</p><br /><p><b>How you will create an impact</b></p><br /><p>We have an exciting opportunity for an Underwriter II on our Professional Liability/Cyber team. This role underwrites under general supervision, issuing quotes and policies while ensuring standards and compliance guidelines are met. These individuals will analyze information and can have an opportunity to connect with clients and brokers.</p><br /><p>Responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Evaluating, prioritizing, and selecting submissions to be underwritten.</li><li>Demonstrating technical underwriting skills through strategic, thorough account reviews and file documentation.</li><li>Exercising judgment, negotiating, and making sound business decisions effectively based on level of authority.</li><li>Adhering to guidelines and underwriting discipline to minimize exposure and appropriately price risks</li><li>Working with management, brokers, clients, and outside counsel on contract terms and conditions on a portfolio of mainstream and complex risks.</li><li>Participating in various underwriting and marketing initiatives to improve company results and drive portfolio strategies.</li><li>Identifying opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources.</li><li>Working with management to develop unique local broker strategies for assigned brokers to drive profitable results in line with product objectives.</li><li>Ensuring our marketing initiatives are achieved and that consistent communication of our risk appetite and value proposition are provided to our brokers and clients.</li><li>Representing AIG at client and broker functions with supervision as necessary/appropriate.</li><li>Providing superior customer service to brokers and clients (internal &amp; external).</li></ul><br /><p><b>What you’ll need to succeed</b></p><br /><ul><li>2-4 years of relevant professional experience. Commercial Insurance Company, Agency or Brokerage experience preferred.</li><li>Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience.</li><li>Working knowledge of the US Financial Lines business (D&amp;O, EPL, PTL, Cyber, Fidelity) including product features, forms, regulatory environment, and risks etc.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions, especially regarding technical aspects.</li><li>Comfort with financial statements, analytical tools and technology.</li></ul><br /><p>The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000, and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
