Description

Overview Job Title: Electronic Assembler 2nd Shift Job Location: Torrance, CA Salary: $25.00-$35.00/hr We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Electronic Power Conditioner Generalist at our Torrance, California location. Under the guided direction of the department or work cell supervisor or manager, employee will work as a team member within an assigned work group to produce and/or process electronic productions in an ESD environment of continual process improvement. Typical duties and requirements are not meant to be all encompassing but a general framework of requirements/responsibilities. Responsibilities Responsible for proficiently assembling at all levels of electronic assembly including assemblies and processes that are categorized as “high” complexity (harnesses, installing electronic parts onto printed wiring boards, bonding/coating of components/parts, and other duties associated with the manufacture of electronic assemblies) from initial component through sub-assembly and/or sub-process operations to a completed product for the area assigned.  Proficient at performing difficult and complex rework of electronic assemblies. Ability to solder assemble micro-miniature lumped element components into small metal housings using dual heat sources Ability to work with very small and large parts under a microscope, Soldering and Polymeric skills are critical Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods of time Ability to have eye to hand dexterity and fine motor skills Responsible for working from approved written work instructions, specifications, blueprints, drawings, wiring diagrams, data sheets, continuity check procedures, and other written instructions. Responsible for setting up (ensures build records are with kit(s) router, traveler, hours, and ensuring all previous required sequences have been completed and bought off with stamp and date). Responsible for operating assembly and/or process equipment as required to manufacture and process electronic assemblies including preparing and applying epoxy materials and forming leads on electronic components either with lead forming tools or by hand. Will perform work under ESD/clean room conditions and controls when required.  May use computerized equipment to input, retrieve and perform simple analysis of information. Responsible for performing computerized equipment to input, retrieve and perform simple analysis of information. Ability to obtain certifications as required per department requirements. Must be able to proficiently read and understand engineering prints/documentation and ensuring any handwritten entries are neat, legible, and contain necessary stamps. Responsible for adjusting and performing incidental related duties as assigned or required to ensure acceptable quality, cost (HPUs) and delivery expectations are met. Work scheduled shifts as requested or permitted by Collective Bargaining Agreement; regular attendance and punctuality are required. Must be proficient at clocking into (and out of) work orders. Must accurately record and document time charging of job performed. Must be able to effectively execute and perform 5S as part of daily activities including grading and audits. Qualifications High School diploma or GED required and 5+ years of operations or manufacturing-related work experience. 4 Year’s assembly and soldering experience IPC J-STD-001, MIL-STD-2000, NASA-STD-8739.3, or equivalent Must have good repetitive manual dexterity with both hands. Must be proficient at performing difficult and complex rework of electronic assemblies. Experience using basic hand tools and soldering. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures and basic engineering drawings and specifications. Experience with tools necessary to fabricate and test electronic circuitry. Ability to work with minimum supervision. 20/20 eyesight (corrected) and good hand-eye coordination are necessary, along with the ability to work with small parts and hand tools under a microscope for extended periods of time. Knowledge of foreign object debris (FOD) control and tool control processes is desirable. Good math skills to carry out basic calculations and measurements are required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills: interpersonal, oral, and written. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects. Ability to work on a team as well as independently. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the use of torque tools, feeler gauges, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators is a plus. Computer data input skills are helpful. General knowledge of electrical and/or electro-mechanical assembly processes and procedures, with previous precision assembly experience preferred.
