    "description": "<h2>Job Posting Title</h2>Physical Therapy Assistant Instructor\n<h2>Choose To Make A Difference</h2>\n<p>Reporting directly to the Program Director, the Lead Faculty assists the Program Director in providing leadership in managing, planning, and implementing the program in support of college and/or departmental goals in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes to meet placement expectations. Participates in curriculum development and coordination, facilitates teaching assignments using a blended instructional approach combining face-to-face instruction with on-line instruction (as applicable). Provides professional leadership and support for teaching faculty and enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Additional responsibilities include delivering class and/or clinical instructions according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods; develops daily lesson plans; advises and tutors students; maintains current and accurate attendance and grade records; remains current in applicable program teaching field; participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars and two (2) annual in-service training sessions. Participates in college activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Essential Functions & Responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Student Outcomes</li>\n <li>Monitors and analyzes student attrition and retention data and works with other college leaders to develop initiatives that can be implemented to improve retention.</li>\n <li>Develops and plans course content and methods of instruction.</li>\n <li>Observes and evaluates students' work to determine progress, provides feedback, and makes suggestions for improvement.</li>\n <li>Encourages the development of communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments.</li>\n <li>Presents lectures and conducts discussions to increase students' knowledge and competence, using visual aids such as graphs, charts, videotapes, and slides.</li>\n <li>Administers standardized oral, written, or performance tests in order to measure progress, and to evaluate learning effectiveness based on course objectives.</li>\n <li>Supervises independent or group projects, field placements, laboratory work, or other training as necessary.</li>\n <li>Provides individualized tutorial and/or remedial instruction.</li>\n <li>Assures students are provided support services to maintain the highest level of student achievement while safeguarding the integrity of the educational process.</li>\n <li>Delivers curriculum in accordance with approved syllabi according to program objectives and required contact hours for courses taught.</li>\n <li>Employs appropriate instructional methods and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students and modifies where appropriate to meet diverse students' needs.</li>\n <li>Observes and evaluates students' work to determine progress, provides feedback, and makes suggestions for improvement.</li>\n <li>Participates in graduation ceremonies.</li>\n <li>Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of student information/records.</li>\n <li>Professional Development</li>\n <li>Maintains required credentials and knowledge in teaching field.</li>\n <li>Participates in professional development and organizations in order to maintain an understanding of current ideas, research and practices, attends meetings, workshops and seminars to enrich personal growth, knowledge and skill in management development.</li>\n <li>Attends at least one (1) professional development activity annually and two (2) in-service events annually.</li>\n <li>Adheres to College/University policies and procedures and conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the College/University’s Code of Ethical Conduct, Compliance Agreement, Sexual Harassment Policy or any of its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.</li>\n <li>Maintains regular and timely attendance, reports to work as scheduled and as required to meet the needs of the College/University and assures time worked and/or time-off is recorded properly.</li>\n <li>Exercises care, proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies and identifies unsafe conditions and makes appropriate adjustments.</li>\n <li>Maintains order, cleanliness and safety at work.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Minimum & Preferred Qualifications:</p>\n<p>Required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Hold a minimum of a master’s degree with the appropriate coursework in the subject area required from an institution that is accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).</li>\n <li>Current Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license to practice in California.</li>\n <li>Current CPR Card.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Experience & Skills:</p>\n<p>Required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of five (5) years (or equivalent), full-time, post licensure experience that includes a minimum of three (3) years (or equivalent) of full-time clinical experience.</li>\n <li>Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience.</li>\n <li>Experience in administration/management.</li>\n <li>Must possess contemporary expertise (expertise beyond that obtained in an entry-level physical therapy program that represents knowledge and skills reflective of current practice) in assigned teaching areas and demonstrate effectiveness in teaching and student evaluation.</li>\n <li>Ability to self-direct, self-pace, multi-task and function well under pressure of deadlines and conflicting priorities.</li>\n <li>Ability to demonstrate a thorough, accurate and practical knowledge of their field or discipline and interpret the theories of their field or discipline.</li>\n <li>Ability to manage and work effectively in a highly ethnic and culturally diverse student and associate community.</li>\n <li>Ability to use effective communication skills, both oral and written, including presentations and effective listening skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively use interpersonal skills, follow through with duties, provide attention to detail, and demonstrate the ability to motivate others.</li>\n <li>Ability to use creative facilitation and conflict resolution skills to resolve difficult and sensitive issues.</li>\n <li>Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.</li>\n <li>Ability to exercise good judgment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Willingness to work a flexible schedule.</li>\n <li>Ability to travel/drive locally on a weekly, daily and/or on an as needed basis.</li>\n
