    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Responsible for the safe transportation of the assigned barge(s) and for the safety of the cargo, vessel(s) and crew. Responsible for safe docking of ships, (when applicable). Required to perform administrative and supervisory functions. Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of tug and barge.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversees safety of vessel</li>\n <li>Stands wheelhouse watches underway.</li>\n <li>Direct crew in performance of drills.</li>\n <li>Determine the need for and assign lookouts as necessary.</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Company policies and regulations.</li>\n <li>Prepare, monitor, and update vessel work lists and maintenance schedules.</li>\n <li>Ensure all crewmembers are performing their duties.</li>\n <li>Prepare written reports per company and regulatory agency directives.</li>\n <li>Check and approve all requisitions and work orders.</li>\n <li>Ensure supplies are used on an efficient manner, inventory and prepare material requisitions</li>\n <li>Conduct inspections and monitor tug/barge maintenance activities.</li>\n <li>Assign work projects for crew.</li>\n <li>Inspect cleanliness of the vessel and barge.</li>\n <li>Purchase food for crew.</li>\n <li>Work aboard boats and barges using pike poles, heavy lines, winches, mechanical tools for repairs as needed.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>10+ Years as ATB Master or Comparable Position.</li>\n <li>1600 Ton Master Oceans License</li>\n <li>Valid TWIC, First Aid, Advanced Firefighting.</li>\n <li>GMDSS</li>\n <li>ECDIS</li>\n <li>Radar</li>\n <li>Lifeboatmen</li>\n <li>Bridge Management</li>\n <li>Advanced Firefighting</li>\n <li>VSO</li>\n <li>Must have a valid HAZWOPER certificate or complete a 24 hour training course within 30 days from date of hire.</li>\n <li>Must be able to direct, fairly evaluate, and correct performance of subordinates.</li>\n <li>Must have valid states driver’s license.</li>\n <li>Valid radio operator’s license.</li>\n <li>Must be able to understand and use information in cargo information cards and material safety data sheets.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work independently and without direct supervision.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>REGIONAL SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Valid Coast Guard license, minimum 1600 Master Oceans, with a radar observer endorsement.</li>\n <li>Valid Master of Towing Near Coastal endorsement.</li>\n <li>Four (4) years of experience towing barges as Master, Coastwise on the US East Coast, Lake Charles LA, and Freeport TX waterways and Western Rivers.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Job Condition and Environment</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to get along with crew members in confined quarters for prolonged periods of time.</li>\n <li>Must be able to perform the functions set forth in the attached job analysis and physically fit enough to pull heavy lines/hoses, lift, carry heavy items, climb onto barges and up and down ladders, and bending and twisting during boat/barge tie up.</li>\n <li>Exposure to all weather conditions (rain, ice, snow, heat, wind, heavy seas, etc.)</li>\n <li>Must not be afraid of heights.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Expected Hours of Work</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to adapt to a variety of schedules and hours</li>\n <li>Willing to take call outs.</li>\n <li>Able to work weekends, holidays, and at night.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Company Overview</h2>\n<p>Centerline Logistics is a leading provider of marine transportation services in the United States.
