    "description": "<h2>Position Overview</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Department:</strong> Main OR  </li>\n <li><strong>Schedule:</strong> PRN Days, 7:30am - 3:30pm</li>\n <li><strong>Work Location:</strong> UAB ST Vincent's Chilton </li>\n <li><strong>Benefits for eligible positions only include:</strong> generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Do</h2>\n<p>Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.</li>\n <li>Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.</li>\n <li>Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.</li>\n <li>Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instruments counts throughout procedures.</li>\n <li>Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Need</h2>\n<p>Licensure / Certification / Registration:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Education:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.</li>\n <li>Associate's degree or technical degree preferred. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Preferences</h2>\n<p>No additional preferences.</p>\n<h2>About UAB St. Vincent’s</h2>\n<p>UAB St. Vincent’s, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
