For decades, our financial track record has been stellar — a testament to our culture and validation of our reputation as an excellent underwriting company.</span></h3><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><h1><span class=\"emphasis-3\"><b><u>Principal Duties &amp; Responsibilities</u></b></span></h1><p>-Proactively handle professional liability claims primarily involving miscellaneous professional liability litigation, including Errors and Omissions/E&amp;O and Architects &amp; Engineers/A&amp;E to achieve optimum payout results by resolving claims fairly, expeditiously, and economically.<br />-Assess and analyze coverage issues on claims, and issue appropriate coverage letters and documentation.<br />-Complete timely investigation of claims and post appropriate reserves.<br />-Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including dealing with contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.<br />-Handle claims in accordance with RLI&#39;s Best Practices.<br />-Resolve claims in timely manner to an effective outcome.<br />-Travel to and attend mediations, settlement conferences, and/or trials as warranted.</p><h1></h1><h1><span class=\"emphasis-3\"><b><u>Education &amp; Experience</u></b></span></h1><p>Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field and 5&#43; years of experience in a similar position directly handling claims or as an attorney with experience in litigation. JD preferred.</p><h1></h1><h1><span class=\"emphasis-3\"><b><u>Knowledge, Skills, &amp; Competencies</u></b></span></h1><p>-Meaningful experience handling professional liability claims with significant exposure under professional liability policies. Ideal candidate will have superior working knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures impacting the handling and value of claims.<br />-Proactive investigation, risk transfer, claim handling, attorney management, and claims resolution are essential.<br />-Superior writing and communication skills to work effectively with insureds, claimants, underwriters, and upper management.</p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><h1><span class=\"emphasis-3\"><b><u>Compensation Overview</u></b></span></h1><h3>The base salary range for the position is listed below. Please note that the base salary is only one component of our robust total rewards package at RLI. The salary offered will take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, scope &amp; responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability &amp; specialization, as well as business needs.
