IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques and equipment
Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine correct welding processes
Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness and quality
Set up and prepare components for welding according to specifications
Operate angle grinders and other tools to prepare parts for welding
Align components using calipers, rulers, and measuring tools; clamp pieces securely
Perform welding in various positions (vertical, horizontal, and overhead) using manual or semi-automatic equipment
Repair machinery and components by welding parts and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify defects or inconsistencies
Maintain welding equipment and work areas in a condition that meets all safety standards
Successfully pass Welder Qualification examinations in accordance with ASME B&PV Code Sec. IX
WHO YOU ARE:
You are an experienced professional who takes pride and satisfaction from executing in a safe manner and producing quality work.
FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
Minimum of 5 years of welding experience GED or high school diploma required Required welding experience includes: Welding carbon and stainless steel using SMAW (Stick) and GTAW (TIG) processes Full penetration pipe welding, including standard and dissimilar materials GTAW Hardface overlay with Stellite or similar materials Casting repair welding Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, technical documents, blueprints, and drawings Candidates must be willing to demonstrate welding ability prior to employment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
Preferred welding experience includes: Dissimilar metals in common joint configurations Thin-wall materials (e.g., bellows assemblies) CuNi and other non-ferrous valve materials using SMAW and GTAW Professional certification preferred (e.g., AWS welding certification)
