Description
This pool has been established to accept applications for possible openings that may arise throughout the academic year. As applications are submitted, they will be reviewed for appropriate related courses. When a position is available, the dean (or designee) will review qualified applicants from this pool. Should review of your qualifications result in a decision to interview, you will be contacted. As an adjunct instructor you will perform all functions and activities within the guidelines and philosophy set forth in the CGCC Mission and Core Values. Conforms to the college's guiding principles and follows the terms and responsibilities laid out in the collective bargaining agreement. It is the goal of CGCC to offer excellent academic content across a variety of fields. This pool will serve to provide pre-approved faculty for new courses and sections as needed.
Essential Functions
Teaches assigned courses and develop curriculum in accordance with course descriptions as outlined in a course syllabus and schedule requirements. Hold office hours in relation to credit load (may be conducted remotely) Be responsive and engaged with students outside the classroom as needed Assess student assignments and submit grades in accordance with CGCC procedures Orients students by distribution of course syllabi early in the quarter as to the objectives, measurable outcomes, purposes of the course, attendance requirements, nature of assignments or requirements and required texts. Prepares and presents records and reports necessary for proper institutional management. Follows the highest ethical standards of the teaching profession and promotes the best interests of the College. Adhere to CGCC policies and procedures around classroom management, course conduct, assessment and accommodations
