Full-time | Operations | On-site at The Orchard (Poulsbo, WA)
Welcome. We’re glad you’re here. And we’re not just saying that. We’re glad we’re here too. We are proud of this company and take great pleasure in introducing you to the Watson difference.
We are builders.
For 60 years we have designed and built revolutionary and award-winning workplace solutions for some of the most dynamic and innovative companies. Our designs are functional, simplistic, and manufactured with a high respect for our environment and our people. We are proud to source the best talent and materials at our manufacturing facility in Poulsbo, WA.
The person who keeps things running and improving.
We’re looking for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic who takes pride in keeping equipment running safely, efficiently, and reliably and who is always looking for ways to make it better.
This role is hands-on and essential. You’ll maintain and troubleshoot the machines that keep production moving, while also identifying opportunities to improve performance, reduce downtime, and strengthen how we work.
You don’t just fix problems. You understand them, learn from them, and help prevent them from happening again.
Welcome to The Orchard
This role is 100% on-site at The Orchard, our breathtaking Pacific Northwest workplace in Poulsbo, Washington.
The Orchard is where the work happens. Where raw materials become finished products, where problems are solved in real time, and where craftsmanship meets precision. The best maintenance work doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens on the floor- observing, asking questions, and understanding how equipment supports the work around it.
What You’ll Do
Maintain and Repair Equipment
Perform preventive maintenance on motors, electrical systems, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production equipment
Troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues and restore equipment to working condition
Follow diagrams, schematics, and specifications to complete repairs accurately
Diagnose and Solve Problems
Observe equipment in operation and identify sources of issues
Troubleshoot electrical systems including motors, wiring, and basic controls
Use testing instruments (multimeters, etc.) to identify root causes
Inspect components and determine dimensional or functional issues
Adjust and align mechanical and electrical components to ensure proper function
Support Production Reliability
Minimize downtime by diagnosing issues quickly and accurately
Communicate with production teams on equipment use and preventive maintenance
Monitor and reinforce maintenance standards
Fabrication and Technical Work
Fabricate and modify repair parts using shop equipment
Support both mechanical and electrical repair needs with practical solutions
Inventory and Resource Management
Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventory levels
Anticipate needs and support ordering and restocking
Use maintenance resources efficiently
Continuous Improvement and LEAN
Apply LEAN methodology to improve maintenance processes and equipment performance
Analyze equipment and system performance to identify inefficiencies
Implement improvements that enhance reliability and reduce downtime
Documentation and Communication
Document maintenance activities, issues, and trends
Prepare reports that support troubleshooting and continuous improvement
Communicate clearly across shifts
Safety and Team Contribution
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Follow all procedures, rules, and regulations
Contribute to team success wherever needed
What You’ll Need to Know
Experience troubleshooting electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Ability to work with motors, wiring, and basic control systems
Strong mechanical maintenance and repair knowledge
Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation
Experience using diagnostic and testing tools
Understanding of preventive maintenance practices
Familiarity with LEAN or continuous improvement concepts is a plus
Who You Are
Someone who enjoys figuring out how things work — and why they stop working
Someone who notices when something doesn’t sound or feel right — and digs into it
Someone who takes ownership and follows through
Comfortable working with both electrical and mechanical systems
Clear communicator who builds strong working relationships
Reliable, steady, and able to work under pressure
Someone who is always looking for ways to improve how things work
Wage and Compensation
This role offers a range based on experience.
We are open to training the right candidate and also value experienced professionals who can contribute immediately. Compensation will reflect your experience, electrical skill level, and overall capabilities.
