    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>This Opportunity</p>\n<p>WSP is currently initiating a search for aa Assistant Resident Engineer out of our New York,&nbsp;New York office Be part of a dynamic, national professional construction management organization, that continues to foster careers, while expanding our client base throughout New York area.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage inspection and office staff. &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Responsible for record keeping, correspondence, compiling and delivering of required reports.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ongoing collaboration with clients, contractors/subcontractors, designers, subordinate and support staff.</li>\n <li>Chair various project meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes.</li>\n <li>Monitoring contractor performance, scheduling, effectiveness and quality control. &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Review and approve daily inspection reports and payment quantities in accordance with regional agency requirements. &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Prepare Change Orders for overruns, changed conditions and additional work.</li>\n <li>Log and coordinate with the designer to respond to contractors’ submittals, RFI's and shop drawings.</li>\n <li>Oversee site safety, quality, permit compliance, and coordination with other adjacent projects.</li>\n <li>Work with clients to inform public about upcoming work and potential impacts. &nbsp;Work with the Contractor to minimize disruptions to the public.</li>\n <li>Work collaboratively with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, local, and privately funded improvement and development projects.</li>\n <li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.<br>\n  &nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Who You Are</p>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>BS in Engineering or equivalent. &nbsp;</li>\n <li>7-10 years’ experience in transportation infrastructure related construction projects (rail, highway, bridge, aviation, and ports)</li>\n <li>Experience in successful delivery of NYC regional projects for transportation infrastructure agencies such as The Port Authority of NYNJ, MTA, &nbsp;NYSDOT, NYSTA, and others.</li>\n <li>Ability to supervise inspection staff.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to review/approve shop drawings, contractor schedules, permit and inspection requirements. &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strong oral and written communication skills.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Site Manager.</li>\n <li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.</li>\n <li>Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.</li>\n <li>Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.<br>\n  &nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred&nbsp;Qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>PE /RA or CCM is a plus</li>\n <li>Rail experience is a plus.</li>\n <li>ACI Certification is a plus.</li>\n <li>OSHA 10 Hour Certification.<br>\n  &nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br>\n &nbsp;</p>\n<p>WSP Benefits:<br><br>\n WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
