    "description": "<p><span>Behavioral Health Associates (BHA) is an educational organization.  We offer an academic learning environment integrated with behavior support services for students diagnosed with emotional/behavioral disorders to empower the students in overcoming challenges and creating new stories in their lives.</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p>We currently have an opening for a Special Education Teacher at our Polk Academy Location, located at:</p>\n<p>630 Interchange Road</p>\n<p>Kresgeville, PA 18058</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">POSITION GOAL</span></p>\n<p>The main goal of the Special Education Teacher is to identify the individual needs of each child and create a healthy, inspiring, and supportive learning environment. The student population worked with varies in needs based on the individual student, i.e., high anxiety, low motivation, social skills deficits, and many other areas that can affect a student's academic performance.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d\">ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</span></span><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Teaching a small group of students and individuals inside and outside of the classroom.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Preparing and executing lessons to complete learning objectives.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Assessing the students’ work done in class.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Developing, adapting, and implementing education plans (IEPS) and teaching methods that are suitable for each student.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Using special tools and equipment provided to stimulate an interesting and engaging learning environment, as well as supporting students emotional needs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Coordinating with administration to create individualized learning plans for the student.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Quarterly updating parents/home districts on their students’ progress.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Tracking the academic/behavioral goal performance of students for signs of progress.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Working with student one-on-one when they need extra help or attention.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Establishing and enforcing rules of behavior for students in the classroom.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Establishing and communicating clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of each student.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Maintain working relationship with Instructional Assistant in classroom to complete daily behavior sheet and provide daily communication to parent/guardian.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Perform other duties as assigned by administration.</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
