Advanced technologies enable us to process a large variety of scrap and dross and reduce the amount of residual waste from aluminum manufacturing that would otherwise end up as landfill.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Are you an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Professional that is looking to grow your career?</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Real Alloy's Post Falls facility is looking for an experienced <strong>HSE Specialist </strong>to join our team!  This position is salaried, reporting to the Plant Manager with a dotted line reporting to the Real Alloy Corporate HSE Team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The <strong>HSE Specialist</strong> will support the implementation of company health, safety, and environmental programs, processes, and systems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Responsible for: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Activities that drive site and company safety and environmental performance to higher levels </li>\n <li>Focusing on improvements that will increase the level of adherence and compliance to company HSE objectives </li>\n <li>Ensuring the health and safety of all employees, visitors, and contractors through the adherence to HSE standards, policies, and procedures </li>\n <li>Managing site Worker's Compensation matters, first aid and CPR training, fit testing, and other safety/health program requirements </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Environmental: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Review and maintain all environmental permits </li>\n <li>Prepare and submit required reports and permit applications as required </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Safety: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides 24/7 availability to plant, as required</li>\n <li>Partners with plant management to establish and maintain an active safety committee, leads safety meetings, and conducts safety walk arounds</li>\n <li>Develop, upgrade, and implement safety and health training programs and systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company requirements </li>\n <li>Follows investigation practices and procedures for all incidents and near misses to determine the causes and the corrective actions necessary to prevent recurrences.  </li>\n <li>Maintains accurate recordkeeping data as required by OSHA and company standards</li>\n</ul>\n<p>**Benefits effective the 1st of the month after hire; including company matched 401K** </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in safety or equivalent major </li>\n <li>Minimum 1-3 years experience in a health and safety role with demonstrated understanding of H&S principles and regulations</li>\n <li>Strong persuasion and motivation skills, as well as the ability to work across all disciplines and employee levels </li>\n <li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.  Ability to accurately write reports, communicate verbally with employees, provide constructive feedback, and maintain positive employee relations </li>\n <li>Lift 25 pounds and walk the plant floor on a regular basis </li>\n <li>Work variable hours, be on call, and occasionally travel </li>\n <li>Wear various types of PPE in hot/humid conditions; such as metatarsal safety shoes, safety hardhat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and heat resistant garments </li>\n <li>Hold and retain a valid driver's license </li>\n</ul>\n<h2> </h2>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification.
