    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><u>(THIS IS A CONTINGENT POSITION)</u></strong></p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><u>(FOR THE CRISIS SERVICES DEPARTMENT_</u></strong></p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under the general supervision of the Site Director, the Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for the well-being of patients in the Crisis Care facility. Behavioral Technicians are responsible for assisting clients with day-to-day activities, monitoring their progress, and resolving issues and problems as they arise.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Principal Duties and Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers of individuals.</li><li>Conducts ongoing observation of individuals for the purpose of reporting any significant changes.</li><li>Responds quickly to critical situations that may require Restrictive Interventions.</li><li>Provides de-escalation and support strategies to prevent the use of physical restraints.&nbsp;</li><li>Provides effective emergency response in the event of imminent danger in order to maintain safety and security.</li><li>Provides a No-Force-First recovery environment.</li><li>Assists with food preparation, serving and clean up.</li><li>Assists individuals with shower and clean-up.</li><li>Monitors internal cameras throughout the shift.</li><li>Assists with environmental and safety checks on the crisis units.&nbsp;</li><li>Attends all required unit leadership team meetings.&nbsp;</li><li>Performs room safety checks, ensuring that individuals are safe from potentially dangerous objects and that the rooms are clean.</li><li>Completes documentation as required.</li><li>Performs related duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><br><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA&rsquo;S)</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Knowledge of DWIHN policies, procedures and practices.</li><li>Knowledge of the DWIHN provider network and community resources.</li><li>Knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code.</li><li>Knowledge of MDHHS policies, rules, regulations and procedures.</li><li>Knowledge of the practices of a Behavioral Health Technician.</li><li>Knowledge of Crisis Operations principles and practices.</li><li>Knowledge of Peer Recovery Support principles and practices.</li><li>Knowledge of behavioral health and mental health principles and practices.</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of Suicide Prevention, Resilience and Crisis Intervention.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder practices and principles.</li></ul><ul><li>Lived experience in program recovery.</li><li>Assessment skills.</li><li>Evaluation skills.</li><li>Organizational skills.</li><li>Communication skills.</li><li>Active Listening skills.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Decision Making skills.</li><li>Teamwork skills.</li><li>Relationship-building skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook, Teams).</li><li>Ability to communicate orally.</li><li>Ability to communicate in writing.</li><li>Ability to work effectively with others.</li><li>Ability to work with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, economically and socially diverse population.</li><li>Judgement/Reasoning ability.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>REQUIRED EDUCATION:</u></strong></p><p>High school diploma or a G.E.D.  &nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:</u></strong></p><p>Two (2) years of professional experience performing behavioral technician or peer recovery and support duties and responsibilities.</p><p><strong><u>REQUIRED LICENSE(S):</u></strong></p><p>A valid State of Michigan Driver&rsquo;s License with a safe and acceptable driving record.</p><p><strong><u>SPECIAL CONDITIONS</u></strong><u>:</u></p><p>Active and valid Food Handler&rsquo;s Certification required or obtained within the first 30 days of employment.&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>WORKING CONDITIONS</u></strong><u>:</u></p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This position will work in the DWIHN Crisis Care Center. &nbsp;This position will be required to work with persons who may suffer from mental health or substance abuse crises.</p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Crisis Care Operations is a 24/7 unit. &nbsp; Candidates will be required to work a 12-hour schedule. &nbsp; Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>(THIS IS A CONTINGENT POSITION)</u></strong></p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>This description is not intended to be a complete statement of job content, rather to act as a general description of the essential functions performed. &nbsp;Management retains the discretion to add or change the position at any time.&nbsp;</em></strong></p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Please Note: &nbsp;DWIHN requires proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
