    "description": "<h2>Position Summary</h2>\n<p></p>\n<h1>Medical Lab Technician Free Standing ED Core Lab</h1>\n<p><strong>Brookwood Baptist Medical Center Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED)</strong></p>\n<p>7131 Cahaba Valley Rd, Birmingham, AL 35242</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary </strong>Performs moderately complex general laboratory testing in the area(s) of licensure under the direction of a Medical Technologist.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>SHIFT:</strong> Nights and should be open to working some weekends.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong> • Performs and reports routine laboratory testing following established policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of laboratory results within established timeframes. • Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability. • Performs, evaluates, and documents all quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. • Demonstrates computer system proficiency including ordering, resulting, and inquiry functions. • Ensures proper utilization and preparation of reagents and supplies. • Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver. • Regularly reports all unusual findings to the immediate supervisor. • Regularly reports work activities and pending work to the oncoming technologist. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education/Training</strong> Graduate from an approved school of medical laboratory technician. Associate degree in related field.</p>\n<p><strong>Licensure/Certification</strong> Current Alabama license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician by Alabama Department of Health. Certified in area(s) of laboratory where assigned.</p>\n<p><strong>Experience</strong> None. </p>",
