The 2026-27 faculty grid for this position is $75,461 to $116,035 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty with a Master's will be paid at a higher range.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Teach IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Visual Arts courses in Grades 6–10
Lead engaging Middle School LEAP electives that enrich students’ artistic experiences
Support and contribute to Upper School co-curricular arts programs and events
Serve as a Homeroom Advisor for approximately 12 Middle School students
Design meaningful learning experiences that develop artistic skill, critical thinking, creativity, and self-expression
Additional Opportunities
Candidates with relevant experience may also have opportunities to teach:
Film Studies (Grades 10–12)
Design (Grades 6–10)
IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts (Grades 11–12)
Other arts-related subjects aligned with expertise and school needs

Required Qualifications
Legal authorization to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid work permit holder)
Current British Columbia teaching certification, or eligibility to obtain certification before the start date
Minimum of two years of experience teaching visual arts to adolescents
Valid First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain one prior to employment
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates who bring some combination of:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field
Strong foundation in art history, theory, and contemporary artistic practice
Experience with the International Baccalaureate (MYP and/or DP)
Passion for engaging with students beyond the classroom through clubs, athletics, performances, exhibitions, or other co-curricular activities
Experience teaching in technology-rich learning environments
Involvement with the IB Educator Network as an Examiner, Workshop Leader, or similar role
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Excellent organizational, communication, administrative, and interpersonal skills
