A Lead Peer specialist works as a role model and mentor in the recovery process for both clients and other Peer Recovery Specialists.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>*This is a grant funded position.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>A day in the life of a Lead Peer Recovery Specialist at Hackensack Meridian <em>Health</em> includes:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists clients in choosing, obtaining and keeping wellness and healthy lifestyle related goals and in developing self-management skills. </li>\n <li>Compiles and shares self-help, wellness and recovery, and healthy lifestyle resources for clients, families, and team members. Selectively uses self-disclosure to inspire, support, and motivate others. </li>\n <li>Assists in scheduling integrated health care appointments.  Provides assistance and advocacy at appointments and with all follow-up needs.</li>\n <li>Provides supervision and mentoring to Peer Recovery Specialists.</li>\n <li>Teaches and assists clients, families, and significant others based on client needs.</li>\n <li>Assists in the development and facilitation of individual and group-based wellness and recovery activities.</li>\n <li>Assess crisis situations, intervenes as necessary.  Informs supervisor and other team members of any crisis. </li>\n <li>Serves as a mentor and role model. </li>\n <li>Participates as a treatment team member. Collaborates from a peer provider perspective. </li>\n <li>Provides individualized services through face to face contact onsite or in the community and/or through telephone/video contact or telehealth.</li>\n <li>Attends supervision as scheduled, with agenda, and follows through with agreed upon recommendations.  </li>\n <li>Collaborates with other providers to identify and monitor needs and outcomes related to integrated health care.  </li>\n <li>Participates in the Plan Do Check Act process.</li>\n <li>Assists with data collection, statistics and reporting requirements.</li>\n <li>Follows policy for all clinical documentation and completes within the required timeframe.</li>\n <li>Ensures critical judgement and decision making reflects professional guidelines, code of ethics, and utilization of available resources in a collaborative approach. </li>\n <li>Adheres to HIPPA standards and maintains client confidentiality. </li>\n <li>Attends training and ongoing staff development opportunities to enhance skills. </li>\n <li>Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.</li>\n <li>Other duties and/or projects as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelors Degree</li>\n <li>Experience  in the substance use and/or mental health field</li>\n <li>Peer specialist/provider training  </li>\n <li>Personal lived experience with substance use and/or mental health recovery</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in hospital inpatient setting.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Licenses and Certifications Required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) and/or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS)</li>\n <li>Valid NJ driver's license</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Licenses and Certifications Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If you feel the above description speaks directly to your strengths and capabilities, then please apply today!</p>\n<h2>Starting Minimum Rate</h2>Minimum rate of $25.77 Hourly\n<h2>Job Posting Disclosure</h2>HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
