    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\">&nbsp;Job Specific Competencies: &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; Directly accountable for preventing hospital acquired infections related to hand-hygiene performance of</p><p>self and staff &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Under direct supervision, assists the operating surgeon in the care of patients in surgery and performs assigned selected duties.</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Prepares for surgery in an acceptable time frame. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Prioritizes workload and prepares for the specific operative procedure utilizing appropriate Preference Care/Case Cart Requisition. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Demonstrates acceptable standards of aseptic technique when scrubbed and a working knowledge of the surgical procedure, instrumentation, supplies and equipment needed.. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Responds appropriately to any unanticipated or emergency situation that may arise intra-operatively &amp; assists with CPR of patient during cardiac arrest. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Utilize equipment properly, according to manufacturers recommendation and adhering to OR protocols. Ensures OR is stocked and ready for each case. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Assures equipment is cleaned and maintained for use by the next staff member and/or patient. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Follows the hospital&#39;s policy and procedures on discarding contaminated and hazardous materials. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Maintains established hospital policies, procedures, directives, quality assurance,safety, environmental and infection control standards appropriate to this position. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>High School Diploma or Equivalency Graduate of Accredited Surgical Technology Program approved by: CAAHEP - Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or ABHES - Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; CREDENTIALS + QUALIFICATIONS: &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;BLS by approved by AHA - American Heart Association &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Surgical Technician Certification (CST) Authorized by: NBSTSA - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting *Must be certified within 90 days of employment &nbsp;</p><p><br></p></div></div></div></div>\n",
