Oxford Food Group is the world&#39;s largest provider of Wild Blueberries, North America&#39;s largest producer of premium, frozen carrots and one of Canada&#39;s premier manufacturers of onion rings and battered appetizers.</p><p><strong>Benefits of being an Oxford Food Group Employee:</strong></p><ul><li>Comprehensive benefit package including a matching contribution pension plan</li><li>Employee Housing Loan program provides a forgivable loan up to $40,000, interest free</li><li>Vacation PLUS we offer a vacation purchase plan allowing for additional time off</li><li>Employee Discount Program offering great discounts at various businesses and industries</li><li>Employee pricing on products we produce</li></ul><p>Starting wage of $18.39 and after the successful completion of probation, $18.60.</p><p><strong>Desired Qualities and Abilities</strong>:</p><ul><li>Task oriented</li><li>Ability to work independently and as a part of a team</li><li>Good Time management</li><li>Security minded</li><li>Must be able to work rotating shifts</li><li>Must be able to work with products including but not limited to onions and wheat</li></ul><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Verify specified processing conditions and make adjustments to processes used to peel and slice onions or process frozen blueberries or carrots</li><li>Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines</li><li>Operate single-function machines to box frozen fruits and vegetables</li><li>Operate single-function machines to inspect fresh product and separate impurities</li><li>Check products to ensure conformance to company standards and clear machine blockages as required</li><li>Record production information such as quantity, weight, size, date and type of products packaged or processed</li><li>Record the use of raw materials used during processing and packaging</li><li>Perform corrective machine adjustments, clean machines and immediate work areas.</li><li>Troubleshoot machines and report mechanical problems to the line supervisor</li><li>Record amounts and lot numbers of all batter and breading used throughout the shift</li><li>Ensure the mixers are cleaned and filled with the appropriate batter for the shift</li><li>Monitoring batter levels to ensure adequate supply throughout the shift and avoiding waste at the end of the shift</li><li>Weigh totes of product and label appropriately</li><li>Observe gauges, computer printouts and video monitors to verify specified processing conditions and make adjustments to process variables such as cooking times, ingredient inputs, flow rates and temperature settings</li><li>Maintain shift log of production and other data</li><li>Operate industrial cleaning equipment to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse to meet food safety standards as required</li><li>Wash windows, equipment, interior walls and ceilings</li><li>Maintain a clean work environment</li><li>Operate a forklift to feed lines, move, load and store food and raw materials as required</li><li>Change batteries and ensure discharged batteries are plugged into the charger as required</li></ul><p><strong>Training:</strong></p><p>On the job training is provided. Experience is not a requirement but would be considered an asset.
