    "description": "<h2>Job Details</h2>\n<p>Ultrasound | Kettering | Resource (PRN) | Varied Shift </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities & Requirements</h2>\n<strong>Job Summary</strong> The ultrasound sonographer will be capable of quality imaging by applying proper equipment settings and transducer selections on fixed or portable equipment. They may specialize in gynecological, abdominal, vascular, and other imaging. They must be knowledgeable and skilled in technical selection and positional orientation and produce high-quality images. Sonographers use these images to discriminate between healthy and diseased areas. They are responsible for bringing the physician's attention to any suspected abnormalities. They consult the radiologist/resident as needed but must be capable of independent judgment. They gather additional information related to patient history and analyze and summarize their image findings for the radiologist/resident. They participate in interventional ultrasound procedures, assisting the radiologist/resident as needed. Additionally, they are responsible for cleaning and maintaining their equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. \n<strong>Job Requirements</strong> Minimum Education• Minimum requirement of high school diploma• Must be a senior-level student in an accredited Ultrasound program Minimum Work Experience• 1-year previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Required LicensesDiagnostic Medical Sonographer• Non-registered techs (113410) must obtain 1 ARDMS registry within 12 months after graduation.• Upon graduation from accredited Ultrasound program, the employee must sign Addendum A*• Once the first registry is obtained by the employee, they will move into job code Ultrasound Tech1 (113481); refer to Addendum A*• Additional registries obtained by the employee will advance the employee in job code Ultrasound Tech2 (113482); refer to Addendum A*• BLS \n<strong>Required Skill</strong>• The Ultrasound sonographer should have basic computer knowledge.• The Ultrasound sonographer should have good customer service skills.• The Ultrasound sonographer should be able to work independently and be self-motivated. \n<strong>Organizational Expectations</strong> Annual Competencies1. Employee has basic knowledge of radiation safety.2. Employee demonstrates understanding of the usage of equipment.3. Employee demonstrates proper patient identification.4. Employee demonstrates consistent hand hygiene practices. \n<strong>Essential Functions</strong> • The Ultrasound sonographer will need strength to withstand long hours of imaging and utilize correct body mechanics to reduce the risks of wrist and back injuries.• The Ultrasound sonographer will need excellent communication and documentation skills.• The ultrasound sonographer will need sound anatomy and physiology knowledge and be detail oriented.• The Ultrasound sonographer must be comfortable working near radiologists/residents and nurses.\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Kettering Health is a not-for-profit system of 14 medical centers and more than 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio.
