Even if you feel like you don’t meet all criteria, please give it a shot, and still apply. </em></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Vacancy type:</span> <em>This posting is for an existing vacancy.</em></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">About the Position:</span></span></p>\n<p>Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for but not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adhere to and maintain the Walters Quality System.</li>\n<li>Audit the Quality System periodically and work proactively on maintaining and/or improving the system as well as quality deficiencies that arise as a result of the system.</li>\n<li>Plan quality control of steel to sequence and equipment requirements.</li>\n<li>Liaise with the various departments, as required, to ensure consistency of service as well as resolve problems as they arise.</li>\n<li>Review project specifications and drawings for new projects and develop ITPs to maintain project specifications.</li>\n<li>Manage NCRs, find root causes, develop preventative actions and enforce corrective actions.</li>\n<li>Be familiar with the design, development, and specifics of the processes, procedures and machinery to carry out welding work for constructional steel.</li>\n<li>Develop Standard Operating Procedures for use in the respective departments.</li>\n<li>Participate in fabrication planning as well as seek out ways to incorporate lean manufacturing practices into company procedures.</li>\n<li>Create robotic welding applications.</li>\n<li>Promote a work environment characterized by innovation, creativity, teamwork, transparency, integrity and respect and work with all Walters Inc. staff in developing processes that produce consistent, high-quality outcomes.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Work Location:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Head office in Hamilton ON.</li>\n<li>Travelling to fabrication shops, sub fabricators, and sites as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Requirements:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of a university degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.</li>\n<li>Current P. Eng designation in one or more Provinces or able to obtain within 2 years.</li>\n<li>2-3 years of leadership experience managing a small team.</li>\n<li>A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the Structural Steel Industry.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in Quality Management within the structural steel industry.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in management and coordination of a quality system.</li>\n<li>Full understanding of the ISO:9001 certification as well as the AISC and CISC certifications.</li>\n<li>A team player who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment.</li>\n<li>Ability to handle a variety of constituencies, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities.</li>\n<li>Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.</li>\n<li>Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.</li>\n<li>Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed with demonstrated passion for the Walters vision and mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a team of senior professionals.</li>\n<li>Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of steel fabrication concepts, practices, and procedures.</li>\n<li>Knowledge in Lean Management / 5S with demonstrated process improvement background.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of relevant H&amp;S legislation in Canada and the US.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated proficiency in supporting Production and Project Management in interacting directly with customers, 3rd party consultants, and suppliers.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Compensation Package:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Salary: $110,000-$130,000/Year</li>\n<li>Vacation.</li>\n<li>Paid sick and Bereavement leaves.</li>\n<li>Flexible extended health and dental care packages.</li>\n<li>Employee Assistance Program.</li>\n<li>RRSP Matching.</li>\n<li>Profit Sharing.</li>\n<li>Employee Family Scholarship Program.</li>\n<li>Tuition support (Apprentice, Continued Education)</li>\n<li>Values in Action (ViA)- participating in charity events coordinated by employees.
