    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Company Overview</span></p>\n<p>Mergon Corporation is a fast-paced manufacturer specializing in plastic injection molding and blow molding, serving automotive, industrial, and consumer markets. We operate a 200-person facility with 24/5 production capability.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p>The EHS Manager is responsible for</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing, implementing, and continuously improving the site’s Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) program.</li>\n<li>Overseeing and managing 3rd party contracts for utility, building and grounds maintenance.</li>\n<li>Direct supervision of 1 EHS/Facilities Coordinator</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This hands-on leadership role ensures full regulatory compliance, zero harm to people, and uninterrupted production in a high-volume plastics manufacturing environment.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Environmental, Health &amp; Safety (EHS)</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Own and drive the site EHS strategy, policies, procedures, and performance to achieve world-class safety standards and ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 certification (or equivalent).</li>\n<li>Lead risk assessments (JHA, PHA, machine guarding, LOTO, confined space, hot work, ergonomics, chemical handling, etc.) specific to injection molding, blow molding, robotics, extrusion, and auxiliary processes.</li>\n<li>Carry out regular audits to ensure high standards of performance are maintained in accordance with contract requirements and company policy.</li>\n<li>Manage all OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulatory compliance (air permits, storm water, hazardous waste, SPCC, EPCRA Tier II &amp; Form R, wastewater, etc.) and own/drive sustainability initiatives.</li>\n<li>Validate new equipment, machines, and workstations for regulatory and company safety standards.</li>\n<li>Chair the Safety Committee and drive employee engagement through behavioral-based safety observations, safety talks, and near-miss reporting.</li>\n<li>Lead incident investigations using root-cause analysis tools and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented and sustained.</li>\n<li>Develop and deliver EHS training (new hire orientation, LOTO, forklift, crane, hazardous materials, emergency response, contractor training, etc.).</li>\n<li>Maintain OSHA 300 log, track leading and lagging indicators, and drive year-over-year reduction in TRIR and DART rates.</li>\n<li>Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring (noise, dust, fumes).</li>\n<li>Coordinate all emergency response teams and procedures.</li>\n<li>Manage workers’ compensation cases and return-to-work programs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Utilities, Building and Grounds Maintenance Leadership</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage contractor(s) responsible for grounds maintenance, building repairs, fire and alarm systems and HVAC systems.   Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs with associated contractors.</li>\n<li>Oversee service contracts (waste removal, pest control, security, janitorial, landscaping, fire systems, etc.).</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with building codes, fire codes, and insurance requirements.</li>\n<li>Control spending and identify cost-saving opportunities (energy, water, waste).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">General</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as the primary contact for regulatory inspections, insurance audits, and corporate audits.</li>\n<li>Prepare and present monthly EHS and facilities performance reports to senior leadership.</li>\n<li>Foster a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications &amp; Experience </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health &amp; Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Related experience may be considered.</li>\n<li>4+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics, injection molding, blow molding, or automotive tier supplier experience strongly preferred).</li>\n<li>In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state regulations.</li>\n<li>Proven track record of reducing recordable injury rates</li>\n<li>Experience managing hazardous waste, air permits, and wastewater in a manufacturing setting.</li>\n<li>Formal certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent strongly preferred.</li>\n<li>Hands-on facilities maintenance/project management experience (HVAC, electrical distribution, building automation, etc.).</li>\n<li>Strong leadership skills with experience supervising direct report(s) and cross-functional teams.</li>\n<li>Excellent communication, training, and influencing skills at all levels of the organization.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.</li>\n<li>Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.</li>\n<li>Familiarity with ISO 50001 and sustainability initiatives.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Competencies</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Safety-first mindset with unquestionable integrity</li>\n<li>Analytical problem solver</li>\n<li>Hands-on, “roll up sleeves” approach</li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced production environment</li>\n<li>Strong project management and budgeting skills</li>\n<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This is not an exhaustive list.
