Join us and contribute to building a more inclusive future. The Role GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator to join our valued client's team in Fort McMurray, AB. This is a full-time position suited to an experienced equipment operator who takes pride in safe, efficient operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating dozers and loaders within a landfill facility, maintaining compliance with site procedures and safety standards. What You'll Do Operate dozers and loaders in a landfill facility environment. Interface with drivers, coordinating logistics and ensuring efficient truck flow. Load and unload trucks safely and in accordance with site procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times. Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and report deficiencies. Assist with general facility operations as required. Adhere to all site safety protocols, environmental regulations, and SOPs. Perform hazard identification and participate in incident reporting. What You Bring Proven experience operating dozers and/or loaders in a field or industrial setting. Valid Class 5 driver's license (Class 3 considered an asset). Strong commitment to safety and site compliance. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication skills for interfacing with drivers and site personnel. Willingness to work a 14/14 rotational schedule. Must be local to Fort McMurray, AB. Preferred Qualifications Experience in landfill, waste management, or similar industrial operations. Familiarity with environmental and regulatory compliance in a facility setting. Previous experience in oil and gas or mining environments. H2S Alive and Standard First Aid certifications. Work Environment Outdoor landfill facility with exposure to heavy equipment and industrial conditions. Requires physical stamina and the ability to perform heavy work in varying weather conditions.
