    "description": "<h2>Department Overview</h2>\n<p>The main objective of this role is to supply customers with the necessary goods and services to facilitate their job functions and contribute to the OHSU mission of healing, teaching, and discovery. Individuals in this role regularly engage with customers to address and solve issues. Key responsibilities include managing warehouse operations, delivering medical supplies, supporting inventory activities, restocking and maintaining POU machines, handling linen distribution and collection, and performing various tasks related to medical supply distribution for direct patient care areas. The role may also involve serving as a backup lead worker.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position represents the initial tier within a two-level job classification and reports to Logistics Managers.</p>\n<h2>Function/Duties of Position</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs receiving, stocking, data entry, picking, delivery, and functions as necessary to ensure required daily tasks are completed on time, and sufficiently, to meet the customer’s needs for medical supplies and linen. Performs requirements of, and maintains compliance with, organizational guidelines and policies.  </li>\n <li>Stocks and empties ScrubAvail dispensers, and empties chute rooms as necessary to ensure an accurate and adequate supply of scrubs and linen are available to meet customer needs.</li>\n <li>Performs preventive maintenance functions of the Pyxis/ParEx supply machines/areas as necessary to ensure accurate restocking and patient charging. </li>\n <li>Maintains a clean, safe, and efficient working environment;\n  <ul>\n   <li>Shelves: ensures shelves are properly erected, clean, neat, properly stocked, and marked with product information.</li>\n   <li>Housekeeping: ensures the warehouse is clean, packaging removed, and non-stock products are neatly arranged.</li>\n   <li>Facilities: ensures facility deficiencies are reported.</li>\n   <li>Equipment: provides proper care and regular services to equipment, logs, and reports deficiencies.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Maintains knowledge of, adheres to, and knows the locations for, departmental policy, procedure, safety, and MSDS manuals.</li>\n <li>When tasked, drives organizational vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, assist Logistics Fleet and Warehouse supervisors with the maintenance and refueling, maintain driver's log, and fills out vehicle inspection reports as necessary.\n  <ul>\n   <li>Have and maintain a valid driver's license.</li>\n   <li>Maintain special equipment as assigned i.e. tire chains, inclement weather accessories, tire jacks, etc.</li>\n   <li>Performs emergency roadside service to vehicles such as changing a flat tire.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Entry level experience performing stores (retail) and inventory work; <strong>AND </strong></p></li>\n <li>Training or experience providing knowledge of inventory control systems, and transportation agencies and shipping methods (Amazon Purchasing).</li>\n <li><p>Driver’s license and driving record that meets OHSU’s driving requirements.</p></li>\n <li><p>Hazmat certification within 3 months of hire through OHSU.</p></li>\n <li><p>Forklift training for Warehouse staff within 3 months of hire through OHSU.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of spoken and written English at the high school graduate level.</li>\n <li><p>Conflict resolution skills and the ability to demonstrate effective time management.</p></li>\n <li><p>Must be able to maintain compliance with organizational guidelines and policies. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED.</li>\n <li><p>Two years of warehouse experience and two years of customer service experience is preferred.</p></li>\n <li>Working knowledge of hospital materials management distribution systems. </li>\n <li>Medical supply familiarity, knowledge of OHSU systems, and medical terminology is preferred.</li>\n <li>Understanding how to set min/max’s.</li>\n <li>Experience using handheld counting devices.</li>\n <li>Forklift training preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Details</h2>\n<p>The employee might encounter soiled linen during job tasks. Employees may handle the handling, picking, and stocking of hazardous items such as fluids, including Cidex. Hazardous material handling training will be provided to ensure that employees are well-equipped to handle such materials safely.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>It is essential to observe proper safety precautions before dealing with any hazardous or soiled materials. In this role, employees may work in environments exposed to various weather elements, such as rain, hail, snow, heat, humidity, and wind.
