This role functions similarly to an Acquisition, Development &amp; Construction (A&amp;D&amp;C) Loan Originator, but focuses on builder-developer capital solutions, including land banking, lot purchase facilities, takedown structures, and related real-estate credit products.<br>The ideal candidate has deep relationships with homebuilders, developers, land sellers, and capital partners, and possesses strong underwriting, deal-structuring, and negotiation capabilities specific to residential land and lot development.</p><p><br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Origination &amp; Business Development</strong><br>&#8226; Source and originate land banking and lot-finance transactions with production and regional homebuilders, developers, and landowners<br>&#8226; Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of off-balance-sheet lot solutions, land banking arrangements, and structured real-estate investments<br>&#8226; Cultivate long-term relationships with builders, developers, brokers, attorneys, engineers, and capital partners throughout Metro Houston<br>&#8226; Represent the firm at industry events, builder meetings, and land-seller presentations<br>&#8226; Drive opportunities from initial outreach through signed term sheets, with consistent follow-up and disciplined pipeline management</p><p><strong>Transaction Structuring &amp; Underwriting</strong><br>&#8226; Structure transactions including:<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Land banking agreements<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Lot purchase/takedown programs<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Option structures and phased takedowns<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; JV-style and fee-based land capital solutions</p><p>&#8226; Perform high-level underwriting analysis, including:<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Absorption modeling<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Lot pricing and margin analysis<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Market feasibility and submarket dynamics<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Entitlement and development risk</p><p>&#8226; Collaborate with internal investment, legal, and asset-management teams to bring transactions from term sheet through closing</p><p><strong>Market Intelligence &amp; Strategy</strong><br>&#8226; Maintain detailed knowledge of:<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Houston-area submarkets and MPCs<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Builder demand, pricing trends, and absorption<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Land supply, development costs, and entitlement timelines</p><p>&#8226; Provide insight into competitive positioning, deal structures, and risk mitigation strategies</p><p><strong>Execution &amp; Portfolio Management</strong><br>&#8226; Coordinate due diligence including title, surveys, engineering, entitlements, and development budgets<br>&#8226; Support ongoing portfolio performance through builder relationship management and transaction modifications when necessary<br>&#8226; Ensure compliance with internal credit standards and risk guidelines<br>&#160;</p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>Experience</strong><br>&#8226; 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following:<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; A&amp;D&amp;C loan origination<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Land banking or lot finance<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Real estate private equity (residential focus)<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;&#9702; Builder finance or structured real-estate credit</p><p>&#8226; Proven track record of originating and closing complex real-estate transactions<br>&#8226; Direct experience working with homebuilders and residential developers in Texas preferred<br>&#8226; Demonstrated ability to independently source, structure, and close deals in a relationship-driven market environment</p><p><br><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies</strong><br>&#8226; Strong underwriting and financial modeling skills (Excel-based)<br>&#8226; Deep understanding of residential land development economics<br>&#8226; Ability to structure creative capital solutions aligned with builder needs<br>&#8226; Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills<br>&#8226; High degree of independence, accountability, and market ownership</p><p><br><strong>Education</strong><br>&#8226; Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field<br>&#8226; MBA or advanced real-estate coursework a plus</p><p><br><strong>Compensation</strong><br>&#8226; Competitive base salary + performance-based incentive compensation<br>&#8226; Incentives tied to transaction volume, profitability, and portfolio performance<br>&#8226; Benefits package commensurate with senior-level origination roles</p><p><br><strong>Why This Role</strong><br>&#8226; High-impact, market-facing role with significant autonomy<br>&#8226; Opportunity to build and own the Houston land banking platform<br>&#8226; Exposure to sophisticated real-estate credit and structured land solutions<br>&#8226; Long-term growth path tied directly to market performance</p>",
