Assists the Manager and Director with staffing, training, and operational planning while modeling leadership, accountability, and a strong team culture.</p><p></p><p><i>Applicants must be 18 years of age. </i></p><p></p><p><b>Hourly:</b> The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.</p><p></p><p>Base hourly pay range: $25.71 - $35.99 per hour</p><p></p><p><b>A Great Job and Benefits to Match:</b></p><ul><li>Free skiing &#43; riding privileges to 16 iconic resorts including Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain, Steamboat, Solitude and more! </li></ul><ul><li>Healthcare options for both Seasonal &amp; Year-Round employees </li></ul><ul><li>Generous discounts on outdoor gear, apparel, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>401(k) plan with generous company match </li></ul><ul><li>Free lift tickets, plus 50% off lift tickets </li></ul><ul><li>25%-50% discount at Food &amp; Beverage locations at Palisades &amp; Alpine </li></ul><ul><li>30% discount at Palisades Tahoe operated retail stores, including The North Face, Patagonia, Oakley, and more! </li></ul><ul><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) </li></ul><p></p><p><b>Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks</b> include the following and other duties may be assigned:</p><p></p><ul><li>Coordinate with managers on supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to operational decisions and planning, assigning, and directing the work of employees.</li><li>Play an active role in employee performance management, including conducting reviews, providing coaching, and supporting the resolution of employee concerns and performance issues.</li><li>Supervise daily operations, including but not limited to guest check-in, resolving guest concerns, class assignments, staffing and instructor deployment based on business needs, ensuring timely lesson start times, monitoring classes, providing on-hill instructor support, accurate data entry in Flaik, and maintaining facility organization, cleanliness, and basic upkeep.</li><li>Understand and comply with federal and California labor laws in all phases of the employment lifecycle, from hiring through termination, as well as all Company policies and procedures.</li><li>Enforce and model safety standards in accordance with Company and department policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for guests and employees.</li><li>Support the coordination and execution of programs within the Mountain Sports School (MSS).</li><li>Execute daily procedures to support effective personnel and financial management of the MSS.</li><li>Support marketing and promotional initiatives to promote MSS programs.</li><li>Maintain accurate records and files for MSS programs through effective use of company systems.</li><li>Actively contribute to and model the desired culture of the school through professional behavior, leadership, and positive interactions.</li><li>Perform and support front-line duties as needed, including skiing/riding, teaching, class management, carpet area support, student support and supervision, and guest service functions.</li><li>Teach group and private lessons, beginner through advanced, and step into a variety of teaching roles across programs as needed.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Competencies and Job Requirements: </b></p><p>Required: </p><ul><li>Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization.</li><li>Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment.</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact professionally with employees, guests, and leadership.</li><li>Working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, Access), and ability to learn company systems.</li><li>Advanced skiing and/or snowboarding and teaching skills, with current PSIA/AASI certification.</li><li>Working knowledge of current PSIA/AASI teaching principles and techniques.</li><li>Ability to lead and direct employees, make sound decisions, and deliver quality guest service in high-pressure and rapidly changing conditions.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Education and Experience:</b></p><p>Required:</p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED.</li><li>Minimum of two years of snowsports instruction experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Current PSIA/AASI Level 1 certification or equivalent.</li></ul><p>Preferred</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree.</li><li>PSIA/AASI Level 2 certification or higher.</li><li>One year of supervisory or leadership experience.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Physical Requirements: </b></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, see, hear, and ski/snowboard. Must be capable of walking, standing, and skiing 90% or more of a normal 8-hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.</p><p></p><p><b>Working Conditions:</b></p><p><b>Indoor/Outdoor:</b> While performing the duties of this job, the employee will continuously be exposed to outside weather conditions.
