We seek employees who bring different and innovative ways of seeing the world and solving problems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>A laboratory in the Basic Sciences Division is recruiting an hourly <strong>Lab Aide</strong> for <strong>16-18 hours per week</strong>.  The Aide will coordinate with lab members and work a consistent weekly schedule (i.e., 3x 6 hours) with some flexibility for shift days/times after the initial training period.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This is not a summer only job. This is an ongoing part time opportunity at our South Lake Union Campus. </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Cover letter included with application is preferred. </strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Care and maintenance of fly stocks.</li>\n <li>General lab maintenance, including preparation of lab reagents and stock solutions, cleaning, sterilizing labware, and other duties, as assigned.</li>\n <li>Provide back-up support to Fly Kitchen when necessary.</li>\n <li>Attention to detail essential.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent with an interest in the sciences.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Some lab experience and/or college level chemistry courses preferred.</li>\n <li>Reliable and able to produce consistent high quality results.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Must be able to lift trays weighing 20-30 pounds.</p>\n<p>The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.</p>\n<p>Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked), and prorated paid holidays (up to 13 days per year).</p>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) Employer.
