The Emory Healthcare Network, established in 2011, is the largest clinically integrated network in Georgia, with more than 3,450 physicians concentrating in 70 different subspecialties.  </p>\n<h2>Description</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Expert nuclear medicine technology practitioner in clinical knowledge and technical skills.</li>\n <li>Provides direct patient care as needed and maintains expert clinical and technical skills.</li>\n <li>Ensures that patient/family needs and responses are handled appropriately.</li>\n <li>Monitors the use of patient education in daily clinical practice.</li>\n <li>Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and to obtain patient cooperation.</li>\n <li>Involves patient/family in the education of their imaging procedures.</li>\n <li>Assists with development of patient care education materials.</li>\n <li>Assumes supervisory responsibility when necessary.</li>\n <li>Assists with and monitors appropriateness of staff and patient care assignments.</li>\n <li>Assists with staff orientation and staff competency.</li>\n <li>Identifies and takes appropriate action for unacceptable practice and behavior.</li>\n <li>Coordinates daily procedure schedules, works with staff, physicians and ancillary services on daily workflow.</li>\n <li>Ensures the collection of performance improvement data.</li>\n <li>Works with staff and management team to identify opportunities for improvement initiatives.</li>\n <li>Participates on departmental performance teams and/or projects.</li>\n <li>Works independently and can coordinate in Supervisor's absence.</li>\n <li>Accountable for safe operation of diagnostic and medical equipment including Scintillation Cameras, Uptake Probes, Well Counters, Dose Calibrators and GM Meters.</li>\n <li>May serve as resource for staff and students.</li>\n <li>Troubleshoots equipment problems and advises supervisor of equipment malfunctions.</li>\n <li>Ensures that procedure rooms are stocked and that all supplies are within expiration period.</li>\n <li>Extensive knowledge of procedural supplies and location of supplies.</li>\n <li>Works with supervisory staff to ensure the appropriate supplies are available.</li>\n <li>Identifies need for revisions of patient and operational forms.</li>\n <li>Assists with documentation and revisions of daily procedure schedule.</li>\n <li>Monitors the adherence to documentation standards.</li>\n <li>Monitors completion of procedures in Radiology Information System to ensure billing of exams/procedure.</li>\n <li>Prepares billing sheet and ensures capture of supply charges.</li>\n <li>Monitors adherence to safety requirements of the hospital and department.</li>\n <li>Ensures that radiation protection is used to minimize patient and staff exposure.</li>\n <li>Can serve on departmental safety committee and/or projects. Evaluates staff educational needs and competency issues.</li>\n <li>Assists with departmental in-services.</li>\n <li>Works with staff on educational plan or corrective action.</li>\n <li>Ensures that staff is informed and that concerns are handled immediately.</li>\n <li>Communicates with physicians to assure optimal patient care and resources.</li>\n <li>Maintains complete knowledge base of procedures and supplies.</li>\n <li>Collaborates with and serves as resource to staff in determining procedural needs and priorities.</li>\n <li>Can serve on education committee.</li>\n <li>Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development.</li>\n <li>Attends educational in-services as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.</li>\n <li>Renews NMTCB certification or ARRT Registration to maintain current professional credentials.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology, be registered in Nuclear medicine with the ARRT or the Nuclear medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).</li>\n <li>CPR certification required.</li>\n <li>Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience with two (2) years in area of concentration.</li>\n <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</strong> (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. <strong>ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:</strong> Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
