Other specialties include spine and scoliosis care, plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate care, comprehensive rehabilitation and spinal cord injuries.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Job Overview</h2>\n<p>Shriners Children's Chicago has an opportunity for a full time Environmental Services Tech.  The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for cleaning all areas of the hospital and/or patient housing, in a thorough and professional manner.  Cleaning services include sweeping, damp mopping and waxing floors, vacuuming rugs and carpets, upholstery and draperies, dusting furniture, washing walls, ceilings, air vents, woodwork, blinds, windows, door panels and base boards, disinfecting horizontal, vertical, equipment, and high touch areas.  This position is an important part of our team because you will keep the patient's room clean so the patient and family can focus on healing.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:</strong> Full time (Evenings)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The pay range for this position is $18.65/hourly to 27.98/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.  </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs a variety of custodial and housekeeping duties, maintains desired standards of cleanliness, sanitation and appearance.</li>\n <li>Participates in staff development and training within the department.</li>\n <li>Performs a variety of hard and carpet floor care to include stripping, mopping and buffing floors</li>\n <li>Cleans patient rooms including discharges according to departmental procedures.</li>\n <li>Cleans patient and public rest rooms according to departmental procedures.</li>\n <li>Infection control standards are maintained through practicing standard precautions.</li>\n <li>Moves furniture, equipment and supplies, set-up tables and chairs for functions. </li>\n <li>Removes bio-hazard waste, pharmacy waste, trash, recycling and soiled linen, and transports to appropriate area. </li>\n <li>Removes stains and cleans carpet. </li>\n <li>Takes down and hangs cubicle curtain and drapes, washes windows and picks up and delivers </li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma/GED </li>\n <li>1 year experience in an environmental services role</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Shriners Children’s is an EOE/Drug-Free, Smoke-Free Workplace. </em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>",
