    "description": "<h2> </h2>\n<p>Weston & Sampson is currently seeking a Civil or Environmental Engineer with 0–3 years of experience to work in a hybrid environment (office, field, and remote) based out of our Reading, MA or Boston, MA offices. This role is ideal for an early‑career engineer who is eager to learn, enjoys a mix of field and office responsibilities, and values mentorship and professional development. Our engineers are part of a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team that supports a wide range of projects, including environmental assessment, remediation, brownfield redevelopment, and civil/environmental infrastructure projects throughout New England and the East Coast. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a 100% employee-owned firm, Weston & Sampson offers more than a job – you'll have real ownership in both the work you perform and the future you help build. </p>\n<h2> </h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p>\n<p>Working alongside experienced project managers, engineers, and scientists, you’ll progressively take on greater responsibility while building a strong technical foundation. Responsibilities may include:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conducting Environmental Assessments consistent with ASTM standards and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) regulations, including the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP)</li>\n <li>Providing field oversight during soil borings, monitoring well installation, and remedial activities, which may require extended field hours and work in varying weather conditions</li>\n <li>Collecting air, soil, groundwater, and water samples for field screening and laboratory analysis</li>\n <li>Managing and reviewing analytical data, including tabulation, evaluation, and QA/QC</li>\n <li>Supporting solid and hazardous waste facility monitoring, permitting, and design</li>\n <li>Preparing plans, maps, and boring logs</li>\n <li>Assisting with the preparation of work plans and technical reports</li>\n <li>Observing and documenting construction and remedial activities</li>\n <li>Supporting building abatement, demolition oversight, and underground storage tank removals</li>\n <li>Assisting with soil and groundwater remediation projects from design through construction</li>\n <li>Preparing engineering design documents, including plans, details, specifications, and cost estimates</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Throughout your role, you will receive mentorship, training, and structured opportunities for professional growth.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Bring</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in <strong>Civil, Environmental Engineering, or a related field</strong> </li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Master’s degree or interest in pursuing one is a plus</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Interest in or exposure to field‑based engineering work (experience is welcome but not required)</li>\n <li>Willingness to support active field assignments throughout New England and other regions</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a project team</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel </li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Experience or interest in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or drafting is a plus (training available)</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally or regionally for field assignments</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#LI-Hybrid</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Salary Range: $72,000 - $78,000</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Weston & Sampson is an 100% employee-owned, full-service environmental and infrastructure consulting firm made up of more than 800 professionals, who work together to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions for our clients.
