Description

Description Senior Admissions Officer About the Graduate School of Education Founded more than a century ago, Bank Street has a long history as a leader in progressive education and a deep commitment to principles of social justice. We see in education the opportunity to build a better society. Bank Street Graduate School of Education offers degree programs leading to the Master of Science (MS), Master of Science in Education (MSEd), or the advanced Master of Education (EdM). All programs are registered with the New York State Education Department and most lead to New York State certification. Position Description The Office of Graduate Admissions is responsible for recruiting, nurturing, and advising prospective students from initial interest to matriculation. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, the Senior Admissions Officer is the primary point of contact for the prospective students, applicants, and matriculants, providing high-touch support and serving as an essential ambassador for Bank Street, ultimately fostering long-term relationships that carry through to enrollment. In this role, you will help applicants understand the transformative value of a Bank Street degree, inspiring candidates to connect with our deeply rooted mission of learner-centered, social-justice-oriented teaching and leadership. This dynamic position combines relationship-building with data-informed strategy, requiring active participation in on- and off-campus recruitment, including some travel, application reviews, and internal academic partnerships. As a Senior Officer, you will manage a dedicated student caseload and take strategic leadership over a specific portfolio of academic programs, serving as the team’s subject matter expert for those areas. From conducting personalized outreach and hosting program-specific and general evening information sessions to tracking pipeline health in Slate, you will champion prospective students through every stage of the admissions process and seamlessly transition them through to the start of classes. Key Responsibilities Program & Territory Ownership: Manage a dedicated applicant caseload and serve as the primary admissions team expert and leader for a specific portfolio of academic programs. Act as the strategic owner of these "territories," monitoring their overall pipeline health from prospect to matriculation. Proactive Outreach: Conduct consistent, personalized outreach to prospective students and applicants to drive engagement and conversion throughout all stages of the application funnel. Advising & Support: Provide detailed information regarding academic programs, the Bank Street philosophy, admissions requirements, and the application process to ensure candidates are well-qualified and prepared. Make connections to the Financial Aid team as appropriate and serve as a main point of contact for prospective students and applicants. Application Review: Serve as a core member of the admissions committee by reading and evaluating applications to determine institutional fit and minimum application requirements by program. Recruitment & Events: Help plan and represent the institution at on-campus, online, and off-campus recruitment events, presenting a professional and knowledgeable face for the organization, and building relationships with prospective students and partners. Own and facilitate information sessions and recruitment events tailored to your assigned programs, while proactively identifying and suggesting new marketing avenues and recruitment initiatives to expand your pipeline. Internal Partnership: Work directly with internal academic partners to resolve applicant questions and ensure prospects are moving through the admissions process seamlessly. Build strong relationships with faculty within your assigned programs and optimize opportunities for collaboration for recruitment and applicant advising. Post-Acceptance Work & Advisement: Work directly with admitted and matriculated students through orientation initiatives, prerequisite advisement toward degree completion, and other tasks assigned in the overall Enrollment Management and Student Services group. Application System Support: Assist with application cycle launches and email management. Trend Analysis & Reporting: Leverage system tools to analyze and report on recruitment patterns, application pipeline health, and progress to enrollment confirmation within the admitted student class. Supporting Bank Street College Events: Represent the Office of Graduate Admissions at Bank Street-held events, including internal conferences, lectures, and commencement. Other duties as assigned and needs evolve . Qualifications A bachelor’s degree, plus 3-5 years of relevant work experience is required. A valid driver’s license is required. Must be able to work either 10 am - 6 pm or 11 am to 7 pm one to two days per week. Salary range: $69,000-$74,000 Company Bank Street is a leader in education, a pioneer in improving the quality of classroom practice, and a national advocate for children and their families. Since its beginnings in 1916, Bank Street has been at the forefront of understanding how children learn and grow. From early childhood centers and schools to hospitals and museums, Bank Street has built a national reputation on the simple fact that our graduates know how to do the work that is right for children. At Bank Street’s Graduate School of Education, students are trained in a model that combines the study of human development, learning theory, and sustained clinical placement to promote significant development as a teacher prior to graduation. Our children’s programs—Bank Street School for Children, Family Center, Bank Street Head Start, and Liberty LEADS—foster children’s development in the broadest sense by providing diverse opportunities for social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. The Bank Street Education Center disrupts inequity through system-level change to help design better educational experiences for both children and adults. The College further supports and influences positive outcomes for children every day through professional development programs, research projects, and other key efforts engaging educators, intermediary organizations, and government officials at the district, state, and federal levels.
