    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Supervising Professional Engineer</strong></p><p><strong>Division of Regulatory Services</strong></p><p><strong>Job Summary:</strong> This is supervisory professional engineering work in water resource, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural, and other related fields of engineering.</p><p><strong>Job duties include:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left: 0px;\">Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates performance, and provides technical assistance and direction to subordinate staff. Reviews and signs off on technical documents. Meets and communicates with staff regularly to ensure consistency and alignment with rules and Division procedures. Monitors, manages, and balances the overall workload with other supervising professional engineers. Facilitates the resolution of elevated projects and keeps leadership updated on projects of heightened concern. Participates in and supports the Division&rsquo;s performance goals and mission.</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0px;\">Reviews the engineering portion of the larger and/or more complex applications for Environmental Resource Permits (ERPs) and Sovereign Submerged Lands (SSL).Assists, as needed, in the review of Consumptive Use Permits (CUPs).Responsibilities include reviewing construction plans/drawings, calculations, data, legal documents, and hydrologic modeling to determine if projects meet District criteria for water quality and flood protection; preparing technical staff reports and letters; conducting pre-application meetings; coordinating the review of projects with other review team; documenting project actions, activities, and pertinent information in e-Reg; and communicating regularly with appropriate leadership on projects of heightened concern.</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0px;\">Reviews the engineering portion of the larger and/or more complex compliance and enforcement projects, to evaluate conformance with District rules and issued permits. Responsibilities include conducting periodic site inspections during and upon completion of project construction/implementation to monitor system conditions; evaluating compliance submittals; reviewing and evaluating monitoring reports; responding to complaints and public information requests; facilitating resolutions to non-compliance issues; performing permit determinations; writing technical reports and enforcement actions; reviewing legal documents and coordinating with legal staff; documenting compliance actions, activities and pertinent information in e-Reg; communicating regularly with appropriate leadership on compliance matters of heightened concern.</li></ul><p><strong>Skilled In:</strong></p><p>Collaborative problem solving; project and workload management; application of ERP, SSL, and CUP rules; the ability to read maps and engineering drawings; use of ArcMap, the use of basic computer software; writing technical reports and letters; and effectively communicating with others within formal and informal settings.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><p>A bachelor&#39;s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, registration with the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer, one year of subsequent experience directly related to the field in which the position is assigned. At least one year of experience leading a project team, coordinating activities of a workgroup, or serving as a team lead is desired.</p><p>A master&#39;s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering can substitute for the required non-supervisory experience.</p><p><strong>Physical Requirements/Working Environment:</strong></p><p>Mostly general office environment with some fieldwork required; ability to work outdoors in Florida throughout the year; the ability to walk in natural areas with rugged terrain and heavy vegetation.</p><p><strong>License:</strong></p><p>State of Florida Professional Engineer license.</p><p>Valid State of Florida Driver&rsquo;s License.</p><p><strong>Additional Details:</strong></p><p>Starting Salary Range: $91,145.60 - $123,032.00</p><p>Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience.</p><p>Benefits include Florida Retirement System, paid parental leave, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, paid leave and holidays, professional development, wellness program, and eligible for public service student loan forgiveness program.</p><p>Your application will receive careful consideration and, if selected for an interview, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment.
