    "description": "<h2>Position Description</h2>\n<p><strong>At a Glance</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Legrand </strong>has an exciting opportunity for a <strong>Sr. Applications Engineer </strong>to join the <strong>Data Center Power and Control Division Starline Team.</strong> This is a <strong>remote position reporting to Canonsburg, PA.</strong> The Sr.  Applications Engineer provides high-level engineering expertise, project management, and commercial support for the application of Starline high-amperage busduct products across customer projects. This role leads technical strategy, mentors junior engineers, and ensures customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle. The engineer is responsible for drafting product offers, resolving technical issues, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What Will You Do?</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain expert-level knowledge of Starline products and their applications.</li>\n <li>Design system layouts for busduct systems using site surveys, customer drawings, project tenders, and field input.</li>\n <li>Utilize AutoCAD (mechanical and electrical) for layout and design tasks.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain technical documentation, including catalog sheets, FAQs, technical briefs, reports, and installation instructions.</li>\n <li>Provide technical and commercial support to sales teams and customers—onsite or remotely—on topics such as product estimation, RFQ support, ratings, regulatory compliance, safety, customization, troubleshooting, installation, and pricing.</li>\n <li>Lead technical strategy to ensure alignment with customer needs and business objectives.</li>\n <li>Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and documentation standards.</li>\n <li>Participate in customer meetings and deliver presentations on product solutions and project updates.</li>\n <li>Draft technical offers for busduct products, verifying application requirements based on customer needs and installation layouts.</li>\n <li>Confirm technical specifications including operating temperature, power, installation parameters, materials, and quantities.</li>\n <li>Support project management throughout the entire sales cycle.</li>\n <li>Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Duties:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct onsite measurements, troubleshooting, and rework as needed.</li>\n <li>Serve as a technical liaison to the sales team.</li>\n <li>Deliver training on busduct products to the sales network, customers, and installation contractors.</li>\n <li>Support the Service Group by assisting with project management during installations.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred), or 3+ years of relevant experience.</li>\n <li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering.</li>\n <li>Experience with busbar/busduct systems preferred.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical writing.</li>\n <li><p>Ability to travel up to 25%, primarily within North America, with potential for minimal international travel.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong aptitude for electrical product design and application in power distribution and busduct systems.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with IEC standards and certifications.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.</li>\n <li>Customer-focused, dependable, and solutions-oriented.</li>\n <li>Self-reliant, adaptable, and resourceful in dynamic environments.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Occasional exposure to manufacturing and construction environments; use of personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection) may be required.</li>\n <li>Ability to sit for extended periods.</li>\n <li>Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Salary and Benefits:</strong> 110,000 - 130,000 plus Bonus</p>\n<p>LNCA offers comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage, as well as distinctive benefits like a high employer 401K match, above-benchmark paid maternity and parental leave, paid time off to volunteer, and an active/growing Employee Resource Group network.
