If so, this could be the perfect next step in your career.</p>\n<p>Michael Baker International is seeking a <strong>Bridge Inspection Team Leader</strong> to drive inspection and design initiatives from our Waltham, MA (Hybrid) office. &nbsp;This hybrid role blends meaningful fieldwork with technical leadership and offers the flexibility of remote work opportunities. You’ll play a vital role in protecting critical infrastructure while shaping and inspiring the next generation of engineering professionals.</p>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead safety inspections for bridges and tunnels in alignment with FHWA National Bridge and Tunnel Inspection Standards.</li>\n <li>Perform load ratings and rehabilitation design using modern engineering tools and best practices.</li>\n <li>Interpret technical documents—plans, specifications, and contracts—at an expert level.</li>\n <li>Mentor and develop junior engineers through hands-on technical guidance.</li>\n <li>Coordinate closely with local agencies, clients, and stakeholders to plan inspections, manage traffic closures, and ensure clear documentation.</li>\n <li>Prepare high-quality inspection reports that drive actionable decisions and meet rigorous federal compliance standards.</li>\n <li>Scope, plan, and budget projects accurately to meet schedule, cost, and quality goals.</li>\n <li>Conduct fieldwork safely using ladders, hand tools, and inspection equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You Need to Succeed:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited)</li>\n <li>5–8+ years of bridge/tunnel inspection experience</li>\n <li>Active <strong>Professional Engineer (P.E.)</strong> license</li>\n <li>National certification as a Bridge/Tunnel Inspection Team Leader</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Non-Destructive Testing methods</li>\n <li>Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certificate</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and BlueBeam</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Completion of <strong>NHI Courses 130055 &amp; 130078</strong></li>\n <li>Experience in inspection, load rating, or structural design</li>\n <li>Proficiency in software such as AASHTOWare BrR, STAAD Pro, MDX, CSI Bridge, and MathCAD</li>\n <li>Ability to manage structural assignments from concept through construction documentation</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation</strong></p>\n<p>The approximate compensation range for this position is $122,000-$165,000.
