    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>General Summary</strong>: Successfully develops student athletes in the USM boys&rsquo; basketball program committed to academic and athletic excellence. Leads and supports a positive, educational-based athletic program that closely coordinates with the academic and administrative leaders at the School. This opportunity could be combined with an academic or administrative position in the School.</p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Holds&nbsp;appropriate&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;School&rsquo;s&nbsp;mission,&nbsp;philosophy&nbsp;and&nbsp;objectives.&nbsp;Knows,&nbsp;understands,&nbsp;supports, and&nbsp;adheres&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;rules,&nbsp;regulations&nbsp;and&nbsp;philosophies&nbsp;as&nbsp;set&nbsp;forth&nbsp;by governing&nbsp;hockey&nbsp;agencies,&nbsp;as well as University School of Milwaukee (USM),&nbsp;WIAA, etc.</li><li>Shows a willingness to establish goals, and evaluates whether these goals have been met. Demonstrates ability to offer constructive criticism to players and other staff when necessary and help to improve the area being criticized.&nbsp;</li><li>Exerts&nbsp;firm,&nbsp;consistent,&nbsp;and&nbsp;fair&nbsp;discipline&nbsp;while&nbsp;being&nbsp;sympathetic,&nbsp;tolerant&nbsp;and&nbsp;patient&nbsp;with&nbsp;her/his athletes&nbsp;and&nbsp;colleagues.</li><li>Provides&nbsp;the&nbsp;leadership&nbsp;and positive&nbsp;attitude&nbsp;that&nbsp;produces&nbsp;maximum&nbsp;effort&nbsp;by participants.&nbsp;Shows&nbsp;self-control, poise&nbsp;and&nbsp;emotional&nbsp;stability&nbsp;in&nbsp;all&nbsp;areas&nbsp;related&nbsp;to&nbsp;coaching&nbsp;responsibilities&nbsp;including&nbsp;cooperation&nbsp;in&nbsp;the sharing&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;use&nbsp;of&nbsp;facilities.&nbsp;Possesses&nbsp;an&nbsp;appropriate&nbsp;sense&nbsp;of&nbsp;humor.</li><li>Provides&nbsp;an&nbsp;example&nbsp;of&nbsp;professional,&nbsp;fair,&nbsp;honest,&nbsp;and&nbsp;ethical&nbsp;behavior&nbsp;in&nbsp;her/his&nbsp;relationship&nbsp;with&nbsp;players, staff,&nbsp;officials,&nbsp;parents,&nbsp;and&nbsp;opponents.&nbsp;Actively&nbsp;promotes&nbsp;student&nbsp;safety,&nbsp;dignity&nbsp;and&nbsp;respect.</li><li>Expresses enthusiasm about athletics while working with students, parents, and School personnel. Demonstrates Interest in athletes during the off-season as well as in their classroom efforts.</li><li>Communicates&nbsp;effectively&nbsp;with:&nbsp;media,&nbsp;parents,&nbsp;staff,&nbsp;support&nbsp;staff,&nbsp;faculty,&nbsp;other&nbsp;head&nbsp;coaches&nbsp;and&nbsp;staffs, athletic&nbsp;leadership&nbsp;team,&nbsp;and&nbsp;players.</li><li>Demonstrates dedication to all phases of coaching; organizes, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates practice sessions and related activities with proper attention to players&#39; mental and physical well-being. Makes provision for pre- game as well as post-game details. Sets up the mechanism for scouting opponents. Meets team promptly for meetings, practice and games. Keeps abreast modern trends, techniques, and strategies; and applies new trends where applicable.</li><li>Participates annually in professional clinics, workshops or conferences, as well as reading current literature available.&nbsp;</li><li>Understands&nbsp;the&nbsp;proper&nbsp;care&nbsp;and&nbsp;prevention&nbsp;of&nbsp;injuries.</li><li>Cooperates with all athletic department staff in the maintenance of timely and satisfactory records, budget, inventory, physicals, statistics, eligibility lists, awards, non-conference and transportation schedules, as well as keeping the Athletic Department leadership informed about unusual events.</li><li>Works cooperatively with the equipment coordinator in implementing an adequate system for handling equipment and uniforms, while demonstrating proper care of facilities.&nbsp;</li><li>Accepts&nbsp;responsibility&nbsp;for&nbsp;supervision&nbsp;of&nbsp;the locker&nbsp;room&nbsp;and&nbsp;Fitness&nbsp;Center&nbsp;as&nbsp;required.</li><li>Shows a willingness to create a compelling program where roles are clearly defined and opportunities are provided for all.
