POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Coordinator (AC) position is a part-time, 8-10 hours per week (130 per semester), position awarded to graduate students enrolled in graduate level courses. The AC is responsible for the duties outlined below consistent with the mission of Student Engagement, the department of Leadership and Engagement, and Rosemont College. The AC will conduct job responsibilities in a manner that supports a departmental atmosphere fostering diversity and is open to meeting the reasonable needs of the students. Weekend and evening hours required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as Co-Advisor for Student Government Association in conjunction with the Director of Student Engagement (D-SE) Attend bi-weekly meetings with D-SE, determined by the Executive Board members. Provide guidance and support for SGA leadership at events. Assist in management of the SGA budget and its allocation of funding to clubs and events
Assist in the management of all student clubs Assist clubs in planning and implementation of events on campus, including approval of flyers and transferring club events onto a shared schedule. Create an agenda for and attend monthly club leader’s meetings.
Support Student Engagement Marketing efforts through flyers and digital campaigns (email & social media). Create flyers, newsletters, and social media posts about upcoming and past events. Submit information for the creation of blog posts on the website and RoConnections emails.
Assist with planning campus-wide events such as, but not limited to Founders' Week, Welcome Week, etc. Assist in acquiring necessary event materials. Submit facilities rental requests and work orders for events. Set up, facilitate, and break down events alongside the D-SE.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Engagement
QUALIFICATIONS
Enrollment in a graduate program (required) Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively with staff and students is a must
COMPENSATION
Graduate Assistant stipend and/or tuition remission as outlined in the appointment agreement. Student is required to submit a timesheet weekly, meeting instructions and guidelines set forth by the Financial Aid Department for students offered positions in Graduate Assistantships. Applicants must be a new or returning Rosemont graduate student. Applications will only be considered when submitted through the College application system. Professional and positive attitude, ability to work flexible hours. Computer literacy of Microsoft Office (word, excel, powerpoint, outlook). Strong data analysis skills and abilities. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
NOTES
Student is required to submit timesheet weekly meeting instructions and guidelines set forth by the Financial Aid Department for students offered positions in Graduate Assistantship.
