The Diesel Technician Training program has a <u>set start date</u> in <strong>June 2026</strong>, and we are hiring now for a <u>limited number</u> of trainee spots.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Applications will be accepted from mid December through the end of February. We plan to begin our application review process in late January.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a paid training program. Starting pay rate for Trainees hired for Maine is <strong>$22.52/hr.</strong></p>\n<p>  </p>\n<p><strong>Why Milton CAT?</strong> </p>\n<p>The exclusive authorized dealer of Caterpillar equipment in the Northeast, Milton CAT is one of the largest Caterpillar dealerships in the world and is the “big kid’s sandbox” for the most recognizable earthmoving and power systems equipment in the world.  Milton CAT is looking to invest in and develop the right candidates to expand our service team. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Great starting pay: <strong>$21.27</strong></li>\n <li>Paid Time Off + 8 company paid holidays</li>\n <li>Benefits: Health insurance and  retirement plan</li>\n <li>Employee Referral Program: earn money for referring people to work here!</li>\n <li>Exceptional training, advancement opportunities, and culture</li>\n <li>Yearly tool and safety footwear allowances</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The Diesel Technician Training program consists of 2,400 hours of intensive training across a 15-month period, including:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>2,000 of hands on, on-the-job training</li>\n <li>200 hours of classroom learning</li>\n <li>200 hours of online, computer-based training</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Trainees will rotate through a variety of technical areas within our facilities and work elbow-to-elbow with some of the best Caterpillar technicians in the industry. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Regional travel may be required to attend on-site orientations and training classes as assigned.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Diesel Technician Trainee program is a highly selective program. Candidates must complete an online application to be considered for the program. Successful applicants will participate in an interview process prior to being notified of a decision regarding acceptance into the program. Acceptance is not guaranteed as spaces are limited.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Upon successful completion of the Diesel Technician Trainee program, Trainees have the opportunity to be offered a full-time technician position at any Milton CAT or Milton Rents location.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED required</li>\n <li>1+ years of experience servicing heavy equipment, or equivalent education in automotive/diesel/related mechanical vocational program strongly preferred</li>\n <li>Strong adherence to safety, and strong customer service, problem solving, and communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted</li>\n <li>Solid mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn and ability to adapt</li>\n <li>Proficient in the use of computer technology (laptop and related software systems) </li>\n <li>Clean and valid driver’s license required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
