Description Join The Care Team as a Hospice Medical Physician (Part-Time, 1099 Contract) in Decatur, IL. Are you a compassionate physician seeking meaningful work? We’re looking for a dedicated Hospice Medical Physician to guide patient care, support families during critical moments, and foster collaborative healthcare teams. (Must live within commuting distance of Decatur, IL for the once weekly, in-person IDG meetings.) Position Purpose The Hospice Medical Physician (HMP) provides medical leadership and expertise in hospice care by overseeing the clinical management of terminally ill patients, ensuring high-quality care, and guiding an interdisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered services. The role is responsible for certifying and recertifying hospice eligibility, developing and updating individualized care plans, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and medical standards. Additionally, this position serves as a medical consultant and liaison for hospice staff and the broader healthcare community to optimize patient outcomes and end-of-life care. Key Responsibilities This is an hourly contract (1099) role requiring up to 10-16 hours per month and includes both on-site and remote responsibilities. On site responsibilities will be carried out at our office in Decatur, IL. Duties include: On-Site Responsibilities: Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) Meetings: Participate weekly for one to two hours Remote Responsibilities: Managing clinical needs via phone or remote communication. Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, chaplains, and therapists. What We Offer: Competitive pay of $200-$250 per hour.
