We are looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and drive for career advancement to join our team as a Commercial Lines Underwriter. The Commercial Lines Underwriter will have the opportunity to grow a book of business by underwriting new commercial business and increasing renewal business through the cultivation of client relationships.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Build, maintain, and grow a book of business</li>\n <li>Manage agency relationships and serve as lead client contact</li>\n <li>Create and execute marketing plans to increase new and renewal business</li>\n <li>Rate, quote and bind each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for large or complex renewals as well as new business</li>\n <li>Develop and submit underwriting referrals to company brokerage facilities and Burns & Wilcox management</li>\n <li>Monitor key metrics to formulate corrective action impacting new business hit, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratio</li>\n <li>Lead, train, and develop Assistant and Associate Underwriters</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience</li>\n <li>3+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience required, excess & surplus lines experience preferred</li>\n <li>Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing</li>\n <li>Insurance license, CPCU, CIC or comparable designations preferred</li>\n <li>Proven organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detail</li>\n <li>Interest in continued education and professional development</li>\n <li>Travel if necessary in order to foster strong client relationships </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Employer paid continuing education courses and designations via access to Kaufman Institute</li>\n <li>Health and welfare benefits including medical, vision and dental</li>\n <li>401K with employer match</li>\n <li>Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays</li>\n <li>Access to Kaufman Wellness Program</li>\n <li>Flexible and hybrid work options</li>\n <li>Salary $100,000 - $150,000 annually plus bonus potential </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>About Our Company</h2>\n<p>Burns & Wilcox, the flagship organization of H.W.
