With nearly 50 professionals, we work on projects that shape the future of transportation across the Northeast, collaborating with state DOTs, municipalities, and private clients to make travel safer and more accessible. Whether it’s designing roads, bridges, or multimodal systems, we ensure our designs are sustainable, cost-effective, and forward-thinking. Responsibilities, Requirements, and Total Rewards What You’ll Be Doing As a valuable part of our Transportation team , a Project Manager will support a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience with responsibilities such as: Lead the planning, design, and execution of roadway design projects including new construction, rehabilitation, and corridor improvements Serve as the primary client liaison, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring expectations are met or exceeded Oversee and manage project budgets, scopes, schedules, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget Provide technical leadership and direction to engineers and designers on roadway geometry, grading, drainage, and traffic-related elementsPrepare and review engineering reports, design calculations, PS&E packages, and permit application Ensure project compliance with AASHTO, MUTCD, FHWA, and local/state DOT standards Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including municipalities, state agencies, and utilities Mentor and supervise junior staff, supporting their technical and professional growth Support business development activities including proposal writing, interviews, and client presentations What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) – required 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in transportation engineering, with emphasis on roadway/highway design Demonstrated success in project management, including team coordination, budget management, and client communication Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D Strong working knowledge of DOT standards, environmental permitting, and transportation funding mechanisms Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Requirements Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering Prior experience managing projects for state DOTs, MPOs, or large municipal clients Experience with design-build projects or municipal roadways Active participation in professional organizations (ASCE, ITE, APWA, etc.).
