    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Explore &amp; Grow Lead Teacher</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">|<br></span>Job Description</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Responsible to: </span></span><span>Program Director</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Working Relationships: </span></span><span>Explore &amp; Grow Team</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Scope of Position: </span></span><span>The Lead Teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate activities for the children in their classroom on a weekly basis.  He or she is also responsible for maintaining a safe, nurturing and educational environment, while working cooperatively with parents and staff.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Time Commitment:  </span></span><span>Full Time/40 hours per week              <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Classification:</span> Hourly, non-exempt</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Typical Duties:<em>          </em></span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Oversee the planning and implementation of appropriate activities for the children each week in science, math, art, language, music, religion, motor development and multi-cultural projects.</span></li>\n<li><span>Incorporate worship, Bible stories, and scripture into the classroom</span></li>\n<li><span>Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans for review to the Director prior to posting</span></li>\n<li><span>Create a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain discipline in the classroom while treating the children with kindness, dignity and respect (abiding by the Licensing Rules for Childcare Centers)</span></li>\n<li><span>Set clear, fair and consistent limits for the children as outlined in the Parent Handbook</span></li>\n<li><span>Help the children with conflict resolution strategies through modeling skills and problem-solving skills</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain appearance, décor and safe learning environment for the classroom</span></li>\n<li><span>Be responsible for student assessments, observations and conduct parent-teacher conferences</span></li>\n<li><span>Greet and engage in positive interactions with parents, children and other guests</span></li>\n<li><span>Attend staff meetings, parent functions, and outreach events as requested by the Director</span></li>\n<li><span>Take attendance daily, including meal sheets, or delegate this to the Classroom Assistant</span></li>\n<li><span>Eat meals together and interact with the children</span></li>\n<li><span>Administer medication as needed</span></li>\n<li><span>Communicate with families daily on the electronic app.</span></li>\n<li><span>Supervise the class on the playground, in the gym, at specials and on field trips.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ensure that all state regulations are followed pertaining to the children and the classroom.</span></li>\n<li><span>Purchase small teaching supplies for the classroom and submit receipts</span></li>\n<li><span>Meet with the classroom assistants for evaluations, goal setting, team planning and delegation of duties.</span></li>\n<li><span>Meet with the Director regularly for evaluation and goal setting.</span></li>\n<li><span>Attend required annual training and CPR.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Position Requirements:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Must have a love and willingness to serve children and their families.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45)\">Must be a committed Christian living a life of obedience to Christ.</span></li>\n<li><span>Must be 19</span></li>\n<li><span>Must have a high school diploma or GED</span></li>\n<li><span>Must have one of the following: A valid child development associate credential, monetessori credential, infant family associate credential, associate degree or higher in a field of study</span></li>\n<li><span>Previous Child Care Experience</span></li>\n<li><span>CPR, Safe Sleep, and Blood Born Pathogen Training annually</span></li>\n<li><span>State required training and professional development</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">NOTE:</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><span> </span>This document describes typical duties and responsibilities and is not intended to limit Kentwood Community Church from assigning other work as needed. </span></p>",
