Passion, commitment, and a great team spirit all speak to the team members at Gray.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary </strong></p>\n<p>The Superintendent is the Company's representative assigned the responsibility and authority for daily coordination and direction of the project so that it is safe, within budget, on schedule, to the Company's quality standards, and to the customer's satisfaction.  To accomplish this, he/she must conceptualize a plan of how to construct the project that meets the client’s goals and must ensure that the daily and weekly activities are consistent with this plan.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>A minimum of ten years’ experience in the construction industry, along with a minimum of five years of experience in construction.</li>\n <li>Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to identify, assimilate and comprehend the critical elements of a situation to extract and interpret implications of courses of actions to attend to details of a problem.</li>\n <li>Effectiveness in planning and controlling work, motivating and developing subordinates, improving work methods and results, encouraging and supporting suggestions for work improvements, etc.</li>\n <li>Customer/Owner Relations – Participate in the Contractor/Subcontractor meetings. Maintain open and positive communications.</li>\n <li>Plans for and uses resources efficiently, always looks for ways to reduce costs. </li>\n <li>Is attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, monitors quality levels, finds root cause of quality problems, owns/acts on quality problems.</li>\n <li>Ability to monitor construction schedules and advise on potential setbacks or issues.</li>\n <li>Communicates expectations and importance of safety. Follows up and ensures safety audits are completed accurately and timely. Identifies critical issues and assists in the development of improvement procedures.</li>\n <li>Ensuring that all safety processes and procedures are planned for in the estimates and are adhered to by the erection crews.</li>\n <li>Coordinate Safety inspections with Safety Director.</li>\n <li>Ability to read construction set drawings, process design documents, P&ID, isometrics, and equipment sheets for work planning purposes</li>\n <li>Ability to sequence work based upon available design documents</li>\n <li>Solid teamwork background.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. (i.e. “Self Starter”).  Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative. </li>\n <li>Maintain accurate daily reports, production reports and other Company required reports.</li>\n <li>Development of procurement plans</li>\n <li>Ensuring that the project meets established key milestones.</li>\n <li>Ensuring that the construction work is completed on schedule in conjunction with Field Foreman</li>\n <li>Overseeing the delivery of materials, construction tools, and equipment. Managing rental equipment and demobilization/off-rent when not in use.</li>\n <li>Ensure the Quality Control Plan is set up for the project, set the tone for enforcing the quality standards for the project by attending and participating in buyout and pre-mobilization meetings; and be alert to a deviation from our quality standards and ensure proper corrective action is initiated.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The new team member should be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development. They must have a good understanding of construction processes on commercial projects.</li>\n <li>Must accept personal responsibility for the implementation of safe work practices, knowledge of quality requirements for each project, and maintain a high level of communication with internal and external stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Supervise and coordinate activities within the project site using Crew Supervision</li>\n <li>Interpret & Enforce project, customer, and company policy</li>\n <li>Provide project status updates</li>\n <li>Plan all tools, equipment, and material needs for the safe/efficient execution of the project scope</li>\n <li>Interface with customer and NexGen management</li>\n <li>Maintain good stewardship of the NexGen reputation and the customer budget</li>\n <li>Adapt to changing conditions quickly and develop safe, efficient work plans</li>\n <li>Must be willing to travel 100% of the time</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Visa Sponsorship: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands & Work Environment</strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level is generally moderate to loud.
