  "BriefDescription": "The Financial Counselor performs procedures pertaining to all self-pay patients and patients who have insurance coverage but are unable to pay their out-of-pocket portion. Counsels patients to determine eligibility for programs that are available through the state welfare department and/or the financial assistance program at Woman's Hospital. Works closely with the Office of Eligibility in order to resolve issues that may cause a negative income on the cash flow of the hospital. Devises a payment schedule according to the guidelines of Woman's Hospital. Schedules and oversees the Financial Assistance Committee meetings in order to have documentation ready for review bimonthly. Acts as a buffer when the director and other managers are unavailable in order to prevent issues from escalating.",
