This individual shall have a degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in structural engineering, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you’d work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work in collaboration with the Geosyntec Dams and Hydraulic Structures practice and other key engineering staff across the country to lead business development activities:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Develop and coordinate a regional business strategy for Dams and Hydraulic Structures.</li>\n  <li>Establish relationships with potential clients.</li>\n  <li>Identify and track clients and opportunities.</li>\n  <li>Assist with recruitment of top talent to assemble a talented, multi-disciplinary team.</li>\n  <li>Leverage existing and establish new relationships with potential teaming partners.</li>\n  <li>Work with marketing staff for the preparation of marketing materials.</li>\n  <li>Lead the preparation of technical proposals.</li>\n  <li>Participate in professional organizations and activities.</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Provide technical leadership and oversight for Dams and Hydraulic Structures projects in one or more of the following technical areas:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Dam safety inspections and engineering assessments of concrete dams and their appurtenances and structural aspects of embankment dams, levees, and other water management structures.</li>\n  <li>Structural evaluations and stability analyses of concrete dams, spillways, outlet works, and other ancillary structures.</li>\n  <li>Performing potential failure modes analyses and SQRA and QRA risk analyses.</li>\n  <li>Alternatives analyses to evaluate and compare rehabilitation options for embankment and concrete dams.</li>\n  <li>Analysis, design, and detailing of rehabilitation schemes for dams and appurtenances, foundations and anchoring systems, reinforced concrete and structural structures, roller-compacted concrete (RCC) dams, chute spillway structures, energy dissipation structures, aprons; and channels.</li>\n  <li>Preparation of construction plans and specifications.</li>\n  <li>Design services during construction.</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Leading dam safety reviews for both mining and water dams;</li>\n <li>Serve as a mentor for technical staff and assist with staff development and recruiting to grow the firm’s dam engineering capabilities; and</li>\n <li>Ensure projects achieve goals for technical excellence, budget control, schedule compliance, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.</li>\n <li>Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.  </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education and Licensure</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with emphasis on structural engineering. (required)</li>\n <li>Advanced degree in the same or related field. (preferred) </li>\n <li>Professional registration (i.e., PE or SE.). (required)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills, Experience and Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>At least 10 years (15+ preferred) of relevant experience with dam engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)</li>\n <li>Detailed understanding of Regulations and Guidelines including USACE, USBR, NRCS, FERC, and state agencies, and best practices by ASDSO, USSD, etc. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Risk-Informed-Decision-Making (RIDM) methodologies such as USACE, FERC, and Reclamation. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Previously approved as Part 12D Independent Consultant by FERC. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)</li>\n <li>Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel for site visits, inspections, and other business-related meetings or conferences. (required)</li>\n <li>Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients, with overnight travel. (required)</li>\n <li>Excellent leadership and communication skills. (required)</li>\n <li>Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers.
