We're looking to hire a strong Java developer responsible for creating web services and enterprise back-end components in our browser-based surveillance video management systems. The Java developer must have a strong familiarity with object-oriented design and development, unit testing, test-driven development, and Linux environments. This is an awesome opportunity to work with leading edge technologies in the IP video surveillance market. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Duties/Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Participate in a well-defined Agile software development process with other senior developers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Develop high quality, well-designed application code for features and system components.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Participate in feature design, ensuring a balance between business and technology requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Deliver code as scheduled that adheres to the design.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Find root causes of defects in features.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Adhere to coding practices designed to promote code reuse and standardization.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Provide time and resource estimates for own feature areas.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Identify risks and mitigation strategies.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Required Skills/Abilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Expertise in Java 8+.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Familiarity with: Gradle, Jersey, SQL, jOOQ, JNI.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Object Oriented design background.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">REST web service design and development.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">An active concern for quality engineering, with experience building scalable web applications.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Any of the following would be a plus:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Continuous integration using Jenkins and SonarQube.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Code samples and portfolio of designs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Contributions to open source projects (for example a github page).</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Education and Experience</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial\">Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
