Badger Rock programming includes:</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Badger Rock Neighborhood Center</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>Badger Rock Neighborhood Center hosts a wide variety of programs, including monthly </span><span>CommUnity</span><span> Dinners, a Pop-up Co-op Market and Farmstand, community gardens, neighborhood-driven programming and much more!</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Badger Rock Urban Farm</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>Badger Rock Urban Farm is a 2-acre farm at the Badger Rock Neighborhood Center on the South Side of Madison. The farm features vegetables, fruit trees and native perennial food crops, chickens, honeybees, rain gardens, a heated greenhouse, and two hoop houses. The farm provides opportunities for garden- and food-based education to people of all ages and serves as a space for addressing healthy food access issues in our community through our weekly farmstand and community garden program. The farm works in close partnership with Badger Rock Middle School and provides some programming to Lori Mann Carey Elementary School, </span><span>located</span><span> on site, as well as many other community organizations in Madison.</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Position Overview</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>The BRNC Manager will provide administrative and building operations support for the Badger Rock Neighborhood Center.</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Specific Duties and Responsibilities</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Provide administrative and business operations support to Neighborhood Center staff and users, including answering phone calls and responding to emails</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Manage room reservation requests and space allocation; update Neighborhood Center electronic calendar</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Assist</span><span> with room set-up for meetings and programs</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Assist</span><span> with planning and implementing monthly Community Dinners </span><span>and heritage month series </span><span>r and pop-up Community Markets/dinners during the summer</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Maintain the café/reception area, kitchen, and other areas of the building in a neat and orderly manner</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Manage food pantry and work with volunteers and youth employees to administer </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Assist</span><span> with volunteer management</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Assist</span><span> with development and management of a Community Advisory Council, including identifying community programming needs and program development</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Assist</span><span> organization’s communications staff with electronic newsletter and social media, as directed</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Ensure meaningful neighborhood resident engagement by fostering relationships with residents, users, and partners</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Assist</span><span> with grant reporting as needed</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Other duties as assigned</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Knowledge, </span><span>Skills</span><span> and Abilities</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Engaged in community-related issues with </span><span>a strong desire</span><span> to promote and advance the aims of the organization.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, including children, the elderly, and people of diverse </span><span>cultures</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Strong</span><span> listening skills, writing skills, and ability to work with different communication styles</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), email, and other technology</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Ability to lift 20 to 30 lbs. easily and regularly</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>High school diploma or GED.
