    "description": "<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Nuclear Medicine Technologist, with a focus on patient safety, is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; policies, procedures and guidelines of the employing health care institution or practice setting. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist functions under his or her own license and assumes accountability and responsibility for quality of care provided to patients and their families according to the standards of practice. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist demonstrates responsibility for continued competence in practice, and develops insight through reflection, self-analysis, self-care, and lifelong learning.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>SHIFT & SCHEDULE: </strong></p>\n<p>Fulltime, Monday- Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Practices technology founded upon theoretical knowledge and concepts, uses equipment and accessories consistent with the purposes for which they were designed, and employs procedures and techniques appropriately</li>\n <li>Assesses situations; exercises care, discretion, and judgment; assumes responsibility for professional decisions; and acts in the best interest of the patient.</li>\n <li>Acts as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient and recognizes that interpretation and diagnosis are outside the scope of practice for the profession.</li>\n <li>The Nuclear Medicine Technologist uses equipment, radiopharmaceuticals and accessories, employs techniques and procedures, performs services in accordance with an accepted standard of practice, and demonstrates expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self, and other members of the healthcare team.</li>\n <li>The Radiology Career Ladder Policy is designed to recognize professional excellence in relation to imaging. The policy outlines the process by which the employee will be evaluated to ensure that the employee is meeting minimum job level requirements to maintain their current level on the career ladder, a mechanism for the employee to advance up the ladder or for management to adjust their level down if the employee does not meet the minimum requirements for their current level. The Radiology Career Ladder Chart gives an overview of each ladder requirements while the Radiology Career Ladder Evaluation Request Form is where the employee documents achievements and obtains approval to maintain same level or advance to the next level.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current State of Texas Medical Board License for Radiologic Technologist or in process of obtaining</li>\n <li>Successful completion of an AMA approved technology training program</li>\n <li>ARRT (N) registered or CNMT registered</li>\n <li>Total Joint and Spine Center initial and annual education: 1.5 hours</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to:</p>\n<p>Ø Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, speak, hear, and see. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.</p>",
